The early morning sunlight streamed through the curtains, casting a soft glow across the room. Taehyung slowly blinked his eyes open, adjusting to the light. Beside him, Jungkook was still asleep, his chest rising and falling steadily in a peaceful rhythm. Taehyung smiled to himself, careful not to disturb him as he quietly slipped out of bed.
Just as he was about to head to the bathroom, his phone buzzed on the nightstand. He grabbed it quickly, not wanting the sound to wake Jungkook.
OTP:
"Hello?"
"Hello, Taehyung. We’ve got a new project, and it’s perfect for you. Can you come in early so we can start planning?"
Taehyung glanced at Jungkook, who was still sound asleep, his lips slightly parted, looking peaceful. He spoke softly, "Okay, I’m heading out now. I’ll be there soon."
Hanging up, Taehyung moved quietly toward the bathroom, quickly freshening up and getting ready for his day. He slipped into a well-tailored suit, adjusting the cuffs of his shirt as he glanced at Jungkook one last time. He smiled fondly, stepping over to the bed.
Leaning down, Taehyung pressed a gentle kiss to Jungkook's forehead, his heart swelling with affection. "I love you," he whispered quietly, careful not to wake him.
Before leaving, Taehyung grabbed a pen and paper, deciding to leave a little note for Jungkook. He sat at the small table by the window and began writing.
He completed and Satisfied, Taehyung placed the note on Jungkook's nightstand, where he knew he'd see it when he woke up. With one last glance at his sleeping boyfriend, Taehyung quietly slipped out the door, ready for his day at work.
Jungkook stirred slightly in his sleep, turning over to reach for Taehyung, but his hand only found the empty, cold side of the bed. His eyes fluttered open, immediately noticing Taehyung was not there. The soft morning light poured in through the curtains, casting a warm glow across the room. He sat up groggily, rubbing his eyes and feeling a slight pang of disappointment that Taehyung wasn’t there to greet him with his usual soft smile.
That’s when he noticed the piece of paper on the nightstand. His name, Jungkookie, was written in Taehyung’s familiar handwriting, and he picked it up, still sleepy but curious. As he unfolded it, a smile spread across his face.
Good morning, my love.
Hope you slept well. Thank you so much for giving me so much pleasure yesterday. It’ll be forever memorable for me. Now I’m heading to the shooting set. I have work to do. Eat your breakfast, and I’ll come back early. I love you. ♡~ Ur Taehyungie
Jungkook's smile widened as he imagined Taehyung quietly sneaking out this morning, not wanting to disturb his sleep. He chuckled softly, running his fingers over the words on the note, feeling a surge of warmth in his chest.
"I love you, too," Jungkook whispered to himself, still holding the note close.
He sat on the edge of the bed for a moment longer, soaking in the lingering feelings from last night and Taehyung’s sweet words. As much as he missed waking up beside him, there was something endearing about finding these small gestures—Taehyung’s way of making him feel loved.
With a sigh, Jungkook swung his legs over the side of the bed and got up, stretching. His eyes flickered to the clock—it was later than he’d thought. But knowing Taehyung would be home early filled him with excitement for the rest of the day. He would wait for him like always.
Jungkook moved to the kitchen, following Taehyung's gentle instructions to eat breakfast. He thought of how lucky he was to have someone who cared for him so deeply. Even with their ups and downs, their connection only seemed to grow stronger, and Jungkook couldn’t wait to see him again.
Hours passed, and Jungkook stirred, waking up to an empty bed. He stretched lazily, his hand brushing against the note Taehyung had left. Smiling, he read it, feeling a rush of warmth. But as the day wore on, and Taehyung still hadn’t returned, unease began to settle in Jungkook’s chest.
He tried calling Taehyung’s phone several times, but it went straight to voicemail. Growing worried, he decided to call the producer.
Just then, his phone buzzed with an incoming video call from an unknown number. Jungkook’s heart pounded as he answered. The screen flickered, and for a moment, all he could see was darkness. Then, the image cleared, and there was Taehyung—bound, bruised, his face pale.
Taehyung's face appeared on the screen, bruised and swollen, his lips trembling. He looked up at the camera, and Jungkook’s heart plummeted at the sight. His chest tightened painfully.
"Taehyung…" Jungkook’s voice cracked as he tried to reach through the screen. "Where are you? What happened?"
Taehyung couldn’t answer immediately. His breath was shallow, and the fear in his eyes was palpable. Before he could speak, another voice interrupted — Hazel’s.
"So, Jungkook," Hazel's voice dripped with malice, "finally how you feeling to see your precious Taehyung?"
The camera zoomed out to reveal Hazel, standing over Taehyung. Her grip tightened around his shoulder, the sinister gleam in her eyes sending a shiver down Jungkook’s spine. She was holding a gun in her other hand, casually spinning it.
"Hazel, no... what are you doing?" Jungkook shouted, panic and fury mixing in his voice. "Please, let him go. Don’t hurt him!"
"Hurt him?" Hazel scoffed, her voice dripping with venom. "Oh, Jungkook, he hurt me first. Jjust for you." She glared down at Taehyung, her grip tightening. "He loved you when he should’ve been mine."
Taehyung winced, a pained groan escaping his lips as he tried to lift his head. He looked weak, barely able to meet Jungkook's eyes through the screen. "Jungkook…" his voice was barely audible, filled with sorrow. "I’m sorry."
"No, Tae, don't say that!" Jungkook's voice trembled, desperation overwhelming him. "We’ll get through this. I’m coming for you. Just hold on, please!"
Taehyung gave a shaky nod, his tear-filled eyes never leaving Jungkook’s. "I… I love you, Kookie." His lips quivered, his body clearly struggling to stay upright. "I wanted forever with you…"
Jungkook's heart shattered at Taehyung’s words, but before he could respond, Hazel jerked Taehyung’s head back harshly.
"Enough with your sappy love!" Hazel spat, her face twisting with rage. "If I can't have you, neither will him."
Jungkook froze as he saw Hazel raise the gun. His heart pounded in his ears, dread swallowing him whole. "No, please! Hazel, don't do this! Please, I’ll do anything, just don’t hurt him!" His voice cracked, frantic with desperation.
Hazel smirked coldly. "Too late, Jungkook. You’re too late to save him."
Taehyung’s eyes filled with tears, his lips parting one last time. "I love you," he whispered.
"Tae—!" Jungkook screamed, but his voice was drowned out by the deafening sound of a gunshot.
The camera shook violently as Taehyung’s body fell forward, collapsing to the ground. Blood began to pool beneath him. Hazel stood over him, the smoke from the gun still trailing into the air.
"NO!!!!!" Jungkook's cry tore through the silence. "TAEHYUNG!" His entire world crumbled as he saw Taehyung lying motionless, blood soaking the floor.
Hazel crouched down next to Taehyung's lifeless body, her face filled with cruel satisfaction. "This is what love costs, Jungkook. Remember that."
Jungkook’s vision blurred, his breath coming in ragged gasps. The last thing he saw was Taehyung’s still figure on the screen before everything went black. His body gave in to the overwhelming grief, and he collapsed.
