Chapter 8

Daemon and Rhaenyra try to figure out how to best help the others. Aegon gets a reality check. I hope you guys like it 🥰

Jace looked around as he got off the ship, his eyes were wide as he saw Kings Landing for what felt like the first time in his life. While he had lived in the capital in his world and had visited after leaving, the Kings Landing in his world looked nothing like this. The harbor was very clean and there was a pleasant smell in the air, which was strange because the Kings Landing in his world smelled like shit. There were people walking around, carrying on their business when roars were heard and large shadows covered everything. What shocked Jace the most was when people started cheering. He had seen people react with wonder and fear when seeing dragons, but he had never seen an entire city cheering for the dragons.

"They are beloved." Jace almost jumped out of his skin when Harwin appeared beside him. There was something very strange about seeing the man who had been dead in his world for many years. "People love them all, but especially the king and queen."

Jace was a bit surprised. "Why do they love them so much?"

"Because they have actually worked for the people." Jace could tell that Harwin truly admired the Daemon and Rhaenyra of this world. "They are harsh, but fair and they truly care about their subjects. King Daemon worked very hard to fix the sewer system, which made the city smell a lot better than before. He also grew the gold cloaks and there is a lot more security now, crime has gone down a lot in the capital. They also built a new guard for the royal family besides the kingsguard. They protect the rest of the family, while the other kingsguard focus on the king and queen."

Jace was very surprised by that. "I did not know that."

"Yes, they have done an excellent job." Harwin looked up, as they watched the dragons circling the city. "Queen Rhaenyra opened a shelter for women and children when she was still a princess. She also opened a learning house and had so much success that people moved over from other regions to the capital. She also built a healing house for the small folk and everything has been so much better since they took over the throne."

Jace was a bit confused by this world, there were a lot of things that were very different. The fact that he was looking at his parents loving Aegon, Aemond, and Helaena like they were their children was very confusing.

"I am happy to be back home." Even while she preferred Dragonstone, she had missed Kings Landing, they had also made it home since she and Daemon took the throne. "I am also glad that Helaena decided to come with us."

Daemon poured water into a cup and handed it to her, before pouring himself some water. "She was not going to leave while the others were here."

Rhaenyra was still worried about them, all the hatred was going to boil over at some point. "What do you think about them?"

"Daemon is angry and he is very frustrated, which is making him act recklessly. The other Rhaenyra is overwhelmed and she seems a bit confused about which move to make next. Aemond is completely unhinged and I have never seen so much anger on someone so young, which worries me, if all that anger is not redirected is going to cause many problems." Her husband was completely right, they all had many problems. "Aegon is dangerous, he is a drunk who apparently does not understand what the word no means. Jace is confused and feels profound shame at the fact he is a bastard and everyone knows it. He does not feel completely worthy of the throne and is spiraling. The twins are angry and feel left out, Baela is trying to get her father's attention, for him to recognize her as a warrior, while Rhaena is trying to get seen at all."
