"Daddy?" Natan asks once I come downstairs, apparently he has heard me.
"It's a joke between me and Annie" I reply trying to act as nonchalant as possible, and it seems to work as he smirks seemingly amused.
"Of course it is, only she could think of something like that" he laughs,
"Yeah, whatever" trying to end the subject I sit down. There is a bowl of ramen in front of me, he only knows how to cook that, instant ramen. I'm not the one to complain though, I love it.
"When is mom coming home?" I ask after slurping on a big spoon of soup,
"In the evening" our mom is a baker and she went on a business trip for some kind of workshop she has all around the country. Her schedule is always tight, and there are just the three of us so she always works hard, to make both of our lives better. My dad dipped on us a long time ago, so long that I don't even remember how he looks like, neither does Natan, at least that is what he says. He hates him more than anything. We always made it work though. With or without him.
"Have any plans today?" Natan asks, bringing me out of my thoughts.
"Oh, no not really" I don't really feel like going anywhere today, I'm tired.
"What about you?"
"No, I'm planning on staying here and playing games on PC" Of course he is, that thing has become his addiction.
"Hey, don't judge" he laughs watching me roll my eyes.Sunday is the worst day of the week, and it gets even worse if you have curly hair and need to wash it. Staring at myself in the bathroom mirror I can't help but whine, just thinking of everything I have to do. Slowly stepping under the shower I turn the hot water on and let it run down my hair. Waiting for it to wet completely, I slowly brush trough it and once I'm done I shampoo it and put on the conditioner. Halfway done, I think to myself. Once I'm done showering cold shivers run trough me, so I wrap a big fuzzy towel around me and dry up my hair with a fan. Feeling a bit dizzy i stop fanning it and put on my clothes. The hair is dry enough. Quickly dragging my toothbrush across my mouth I suddenly remember Kai, I hope I won't see him tomorrow. I don't know why I'm scared, there is a high possibility that he won't even be there, but still, just the thought of him makes me sick. Just like the time at the school, they pushed me around, laughing at me and hurting me. They liked seeing me cry, but once the words couldn't achieve what they wanted, violence did, they beat me up. There were some girls too, laughing, helping. I shouldn't think about this. No. I shake my head attempting to shake off the ugly images in my head. I'm fine.
"Oh hi honey, how have you been?" I run to my mom as I see her at the bottom of the stairs,
"I'm fine, just got out of the shower" I reply hugging her tightly. I can smell her vanilla perfume on her, it's the one she always uses, and the scent makes me feel warm, safe.
"Did you wash your hair?" She asks patting my hair gently,
"Yes, it's really fuzzy, it looks awful" my hair has always been my insecurity, it always looks messy and undone. I was envious of the girls with straight silky hair, mine just looked like a birds nest.
"Tilly" my mom sighs. It's easy for her to say, her hair is nice and straight "your hair looks pretty, it makes you unique" she smiles.
"Yes, whatever"
"Hi" Natan says hugging mom.
"Are you hungry?" He asks "I made some ramen", mom smirks holding back a laugh at that,
"No thanks, I ate at work" she doesn't really like ramen, even less the instant one that Natan just made.
