Zed
Luke is coming to the bus with me this morning. His car broke down and is not getting repaired until later this evening, so he has been driving around with a bus. He was all high and mighty before, always driving around, laughing at me for taking a bus. It's funny seeing him sluggishly walk towards one now. I have a car too, me and Theo we share it. But I don't feel the need to use it, the gym is so close and Theo needs it more than me, he drives to the hospital out of the town. So right now me and Luke are both standing at the bus stop sign waiting for it to arrive. It's seven in the morning so I'm hoping to see her.
" Zed are you okay" Luke tucks me by my shirt
" Yeah why" I say shifting my focus back to him
" Bro you have been staring at that sign for two minutes, don't you hear me talking to you" he sighs laughing
" Fuck, sorry I guess I zoned out" I feel bad for ignoring him but he strikes up again,
" You seem to zone out quite a lot lately, huh" he smirks wiggling his eyebrows, making me roll my eyes with annoyance.
" Whatever" I reply looking at the time on my phone.
" Why is the bus not here" I ask is it late or something I think to myself
" I don't know bro, could it be late" he shrugs
" Yeah, either that or we missed it, maybe it was early or something" I reply.
Luke lets out a weird type of laugh
" Ironic, the first time in years I take a bus and I manage to miss it" he laughs
" Don't be dramatic" I sigh and then I hear the loud bus engine " see its coming" I say and he looks behind us,
scanning the bus.
As we get on Luke sits down, and I sit by him.
"So it was just late" Luke says amused
" Yeah, apparently " I reply looking around, trying to find a specific person.
" I don't feel like working out today" Luke sighs scrolling trough his training plan, which is mine too so I know I'm equally as fucked as him.
" Yeah me too, that always gets the worst of me, and I'm always so sore the next day" my mind spins me to the past training sessions with our coach. I look around as the bus comes to another stop. And I feel her presence. This might sound crazy, maybe I did loose my shit but I know she is on this bus I can feel it. I look around once again and I see her standing up to the front of me, as she holds the metal pole attached to the side of the bus. She looks different today though. She is happy. I can tell because she is smiling, bopping her head while listening to music. I feel happy for her. She then notices me, and smiles a bit, reckognizing me. In shock I smile back before she turns her attention back to the window.
" Zoned out again, I see" Luke smirk, his eyes on the girl
" No I was just thinking about something" I spit back
" Yeah I see" he says motioning to her
" Fuck, I don't even know her what is your problem" I reply and he seems to be amused by my discomfort
" You could get to know her" he replies
" No it's okay" I say shifting to my left so I can see him better
" How long" he asks suddenly
" What" I gawk at him, what is he even trying to say
" How long have you liked her for" I widen my eyes. The thing about Luke is that he has this crazy intuition,
he always knows things. It's insane, he says he feels when there is something going on, and I believe him. This intuition of his has saved us so many times I can't even count it. So there is no point in lying to him, he always figures it out on his own.
" Luke" I start but then I think whatever, he already knows " about a month" I finish
" Bro why did you not approach her, she smiled at you" he says, he has always been good with girls, he says it's because he has a sister but I think it's just his charm mixed with intuition.
" I don't know, she is just," I sigh looking for the right word " distant" I add.
" It doesn't hurt to try" he smirks
" Yeah, but not this time" I answer looking at her
" You know I would never say that she is your type" he changes the subject a bit,
" What why" I ask curious to know what he thinks is my type,
" She is just so, different, she looks like she goes to art school" he adds and that does it, I burst out laughing,
" How could you possibly know that?" I ask amused by his observations
" Bro look at her, she is wearing white overalls twice her size and a pink shirt, that matches with her clips in hair" he gets quiet trying to look at her
"And if that is not big enough of a clue to you, she is fucking carrying a canvas in her bag" he says subtly pointing to the bag besides her.
Fuck, how did I not notice that.
"Wow I hadn't even noticed that one" I say shifting my attention back to him.
"Yeah" he says staring at the girl, I am damn grateful she doesn't notice because this is starting to get weird
"Bro quit staring" I warn him, I don't want her to feel threatened by us.
"Shit sorry" he says locking his eyes back on me
"You know I feel like you might meet her again today" he shrugs looking out of the window
"What" I ask not even confused but just creeped out
"Trust the intuition bro" he says before completely changing the subject,
"So dou you want to come to my party tomorrow?" He asks his voice full of hope. Now I love Luke, but I hate parties, he knows that but always begs me to come.
"I don't know" I reply flatly
" Is that a polite way to reject me" he says as his lips spread to a subtle smirk.
"Maybe" I say trying not to laugh, we stop again, and I know she is about to leave. That is her stop. I follow her with my eyes as she crosses the street and disappears in my sight. Luke seems to notice.
"Bro if you pull her she can come to the party too" he looks out of the window, and puts his hair in a small bun
"There is no way, besides she doesn't look like she goes to parties" i say trying to imagine her at one. No it definitely doesn't fit her.
"What do you know, for all we know she could be a party animal" he stays serious but that makes me wheeze too.
"Okay whatever let's change the subject" I reply before his imagination spirals any further.
