The zombies were still very low level. In the novel, they only started to evolve when a acid rain suddenly started after 10 days of the end of the world.
Everyone was caught off guard at that time. People who directly came in contact with the rain, immediately mutated into zombies, other who got splashed or slightly wet, either mutated or awoken the second wave of superpower.
The base was in a state of total chaos at that time. The leads were still on the road so they were affected expect Noelle got a little wet during the rain and finally awoken her plant system and Oliver awakened his mysterious dark power.
Valentina decelerated the car as she reached the periphery of the city center. The zombies were more rampant here and in large amount.
Having used her mental strength to constantly replenish her power, even though she used crystal nuclei, she was mentally exhausted. Afterall the nuclei were still very low level and thus the input was unable to support the output of her energy.
So checking a abandoned alley with her psychic power, Valentina took the military modified car into the space. She didn't want to expose her space yet. And besides the car was too tempting and could be stolen or damaged.
She has a penthouse in the city center. However it was still a few subway stops away from her current location. She installed a modified anti-thief door and bullet-proof windows in the penthouse, so it would be safe and can't be broken in.
Speaking of subways, Valentina narrowed her eyes in thought. Would the subways be safer to reach the penthouse?
The subways were built underground, although she can't say that there would definitely be no zombies, at least the zombies should be less than here, right. However the stakes were high too.
She can't use her thunder power there as it could cause a electric interference and even erupt fire, and she would be trapped. The underground area of the subway, except the stations, she could also be trapped in the middle if zombies came from both sides.
If the electricity is not good, darkness is a problem too and she can't possibly hold a torchlight while killing zombies. The danger risk will be increasing.
Valentina bit her lower lips, "Let me think about it later. The night is approaching and I need a safe place to spend the night." she mumbled, before tossing the subway to the back of her mind.
The shops were all broken and looted around here already. It seems her three line power took too long to awaken. Even dual-line systems were the lucky ones to awaken their powers from the acid rains.
So her triple line power and space can make her look too much out of place and attract unwanted attention. It was also because of this that the Valentina wanted to avoid the lead group.
The original owner was still in hospital when the virus broke out. As a high risk zone, the hospital was like a purgatory of earth. However she awakened the mental power and fortunately she locked the door to her ward when she heard screams and people biting each other.
Later she learnt to use her psychic power to repel the zombies. However the food was very less in the hospital and her psychic power can only just awakened. So when the lead group went to the hospital to collect medicines, she gladly joined them.
Thankfully she was targeted by Katerina due to Lorence's indifference to her and rather Maeve was targeted.
Valentina started to explore the area with her psychic power. She took out a modified M416 from the space. Her target was still very accurate and the zombies fell before her with headshots.
However the loud noise of the gun was still attracting zombies from nearby areas. However thinking how guns and ammunition won't work on high level zombies in the future, she wanted to use them on this low level zombies.
And of course she collecting the crystal nuclei into the space too. That's when her psychic power caught a trace of strong fluctuations in a nearby area. The energy was similar to the crystal nuclei but denser, more concentrated and more pure.
It seemed to be some kind rock.... a thought flashed in Valentina's mind from the original novel. The meteorite! It was said later that the meteorite had some energy that it could help more in power advancement than crystal nuclei.
However that place would surely be tightly surrounded by zombies. And with such strong fluctuations there must be at least a 2nd level zombie guarding it.
The main advance zombie came after acid rain due to the high concentrated virus in the rain, so theoretically the meteorite is even more concentrated with both energy and virus.
With that in mind, Valentina replaced the gun with a Katana before starting to vigorously harvest the heads of the zombies. This time she ignored the crystal nuclei and directly started to go towards the meteorite crash place.
The reason why Valentina didn't use cold weapons was because although this body has been strengthen, she would be exhausted if she suddenly started vigorous works. She must built and stabilize the base of her strength first.
However now it was a unique situation. She wants that meteorite at any cost, by hook or by crook. And in half an hour, Valentina stood before a large stadium.
There was definitely a abnormality in the stadium here. The current low level or zero level zombies were not approaching her since she reached this area. There must be a high level zombie here whose energy made them afraid and scared.
The situation instead made Valentina excited and adrenaline started to run through her veins at the thought of the high energy meteorite and a possible high level zombie nuclei.
But when she stepped into the stadium, a cold shiver ran down her spine. The sight infront of her could only be said to be barbaric and brutal. Valentina felt a faint trace of fear in her subconscious mind.
It would definitely be a battle of life and death.
