The divorce moved quickly, thanks to Claire's careful planning and Ethan's meticulous documentation of Jessica's affair. The courts had awarded him primary custody of Lily, but Emma had chosen to stay with Jessica, blaming Ethan for the divorce. The decision hurt, but he couldn't force Emma to see the truth—she was too wrapped up in her mother's world.

Ethan and Lily moved into a new home on the outskirts of the city, a modest but comfortable house with enough space for both of them to start fresh. Lily was quiet during the move, clearly struggling with the separation from her sister and the tension between her parents. But Ethan did his best to make the transition as smooth as possible.

One evening, as they unpacked boxes in the new house, Ethan noticed Lily sitting on the floor, staring at an old family photo. It was from a time when they had all been together—before the betrayal, before the lies.

"How are you feeling about everything?" Ethan asked gently, sitting beside her.

Lily looked up, her eyes filled with uncertainty. "It's weird. I miss Emma, but... I don't miss how things were."

Ethan nodded. "I know it's hard right now, but this is a new beginning for both of us. We'll make it through."

Lily smiled faintly, though her eyes still held a trace of sadness. "Yeah... I think we will."

They sat in silence for a while, both of them processing the weight of their new reality. Ethan knew that rebuilding their lives wouldn't be easy, but with Lily by his side, he felt a sense of hope he hadn't felt in years.
