The divorce moved quickly, thanks to Claire's careful planning and Ethan's meticulous documentation of Jessica's affair. The courts had awarded him primary custody of Lily, but Emma had chosen to stay with Jessica, blaming Ethan for the divorce. Ethan and Lily moved into a new home on the outskirts of the city, a modest but comfortable house with enough space for both of them to start fresh.
