June 11th 2009

Scarlett’s POV

I wake up to the sound of my phone ringing and it seems Janet does too. “Babe, can you get that?” I ask. “Good morning. This is Janet, Scarlett’s wife. How can I help ye?” She answers the phone. I don't hear the other person but whatever they say causes her to sit up quickly. “I’m sorry, what did ye just say yer name is?” She asks and she sounds shocked. “Mo Ghradh it’s RDJ for ye.” She says handing me the phone. “This is Scarlett.” I say into the phone. “Hey Scarlett sorry if I disturbed your day but I would like to invite you and your wife to lunch sometime so we can get to know each other before we start filming next week.” He says in a cheery voice. “Um yeah that would be lovely. Just let me know when. We will have to make sure we have someone to watch the kids.” I tell him. “Oh you are welcome to bring the little ones. I mean they will probably come to set from time to time.” He says. “Yeah that would be great. And yeah they will probably be on set a lot.” I smile at his kindness and thoughtfulness. “Amazing, how about tomorrow are you free then?” He asks. “Yes we are.” I tell him. “I’ll send you the time and the address. I’ve got to go but see you soon.” He says and I bid him goodbye before hanging up. “That was Iron Man.” Janet says starstruck. “He invited us to lunch tomorrow. He said we can bring the girls too so we don’t have to worry about someone watching them.” I say. “We are having lunch with Iron Man!” She shouts. “Yes.” I smile at her. 

June 12th 2009

Janet’s POV

I may have snuck one of my Iron Man comics into Riley’s bag tae see if RDJ will sign it. We got tae the restaurant early because I am nervous as hell tae meet Robbert Downey Jr. “Babe breathe he’s just as human as you and I.” Scarlett says. “I ken that but I’m still nervous.” I tell her as I am holding Riley who has refused tae let me put her down. “Sorry we’re late. I brought a surprise guest with me.” I look up tae see RDJ standing next tae STAN LEE!!! “Mr. Downey. Mr. Lee it’s an honor tae meet ye both.” I stand holding tae greet them. “It’s nice to meet you too. Please just call me Stan.” Stan Lee tells me. “And call me Robert Mr. Downey is my father.” He says. “Oh I dinnae even introduce myself. My name is Janet MacLean-Johansson.” I say. “Hi Robert it’s good to see you again and it’s a pleasure to meet you Mr. Lee, thank you for trusting me to be the one to bring your character to life on screen.” Scarlett says. “I can’t wait to see another one of my hero’s come to life so I should be thanking you. And please like I told your wife, just call me Stan. I can’t stay for lunch but I just wanted to say a quick hello and introduce myself to you both.” He says, shaking Scarlett’s hand. “It was very nice tae meet ye. I hope we will see each other again.” I say and he nods before giving everyone his goodbye before leaving. “So what are these little ladies' names?” Robert asks. “This is Claire, our oldest, she's three and this is Riley she is turning one next week actually.” Scarlett says. “So Janet I see your shirt says ‘The Royal Regiment of Scotland’ I take it you are military?” Robert says genuinely interested in getting to know me. “Aye that I am.” I nod with a smile. “Oh she’s being modest. She’s a Major and a medic.” Scarlett says. “Wow, that's incredible.” Robert says. “Where are you stationed if you don’t mind me asking?” He asks. “I am stationed at Cameron Barracks just outside of Inverness but we deh live on base we live in Inverness.” I tell him. “Inverness isn't that where Loch Ness is?” He asks, his eyes widened. “Yes actually Janet built the home we live in right by Loch Ness.” Scarlett says. “Please tell me she’s real. I’ve always wanted to see her, please tell me she’s real.” Robert says. “Ye believe in Nessie tae.” I ask excitedly. “Of course I do. The mystery surrounding her and all the legends from over the centuries. I believe in her.” He says. “Aye she’s real. I even think I caught a glimpse of her once.” I tell him. “No way!” He says like a giddy child. “Aye our back porch looks right over the Loch.” I tell him. “Oh that is so cool.” He says. “Ye will have tae visit sometime and I can show ye the Loch and take ye out on it if ye want.” I tell him. “It’s a deal. We will have to wait till filming is done but yeah I would love to.” He says. “That sounds perfect.” I tell him.
