the next morning, luna woke up to sunlight streaming through her bedroom window, the golden rays cutting through the haze of her sleepless night. the events of the previous evening replayed in her mind, and she felt a mix of excitement and dread about what lay ahead. their fake relationship had already garnered more attention than she had anticipated, and she wasn't sure how to handle it.

after getting ready, luna grabbed a quick breakfast and scrolled through social media, her heart sinking as she saw the latest headlines. "luna carpenter and nicholas chavez: the new power couple?" and "inside their 'fake' romance: are sparks flying?" flooded her feed. she could only shake her head in disbelief. this was supposed to be temporary—just a ploy to distract the public while she worked on her music.

"you okay, lu?" olivia asked as she entered the kitchen, a mug of coffee in hand. her best friend could always read her like a book.

"yeah, just... a lot to process," luna admitted, biting into a piece of toast.

"you're really in the thick of it now, huh?" olivia said, her voice light but knowing. "how's it feel?"

"weird," luna replied honestly. "one minute it's all fun and games, and the next, it feels so real. like, what if we're playing with fire?"

"you'll be fine," olivia reassured her. "you've got this. just remember why you're doing it in the first place. your music comes first."

"i know," luna said, nodding, but she couldn't shake the feeling that something was shifting between her and nick. it was more than just a publicity stunt; the chemistry they had was undeniable.

after a brief chat about olivia's upcoming art show, luna grabbed her things and headed out to meet nick at their chosen coffee shop. it was a cozy spot with a laid-back vibe, and she hoped the atmosphere would help ease some of her nerves.

when she arrived, nicholas was already there, sitting at a table in the corner with a steaming cup in front of him. he looked relaxed, dressed casually in a fitted t-shirt and jeans, his hair slightly tousled as if he had just rolled out of bed.

"hey," luna greeted, slipping into the chair opposite him.

"morning," nicholas replied, his eyes brightening at the sight of her. "you look nice."
