"Where are you going?" Denise asked, watching Ashley try to get up."I... thought we should be going home, it is raining and my parents will probably be searching for me," Ashley replied.
It was Friday evening but her parents were home, they must think she was with Vivanne or Daniella and they were usually not opposed to it but after Daniel's death, they were not going to hear that she was not coming home.
"You cannot walk, Ashley, you can faint!"
"It is getting late Denise, if we do not leave, my parents will start worrying." Ashley had to say.
"We will have to go, someone calls bolt something!" Vivanne said. "Don't worry I will do it, I am ready to get the hell out of here!" Vivanne looked around the room in disgust.
"Ella, help me clean up," Denise commanded. Daniella started helping her clean everything they had used, "we should wash the plates and utensils we used."
"Wash? Are you serious?" Vivanne removed the phone from her ear.
"Am I serious? You people, this is not our house, we borrowed it so that we can help your friend, can we just clean it up so we have to leave."
"Can't your friend clean it up?" Daniella folded her arms, it was only logical. "She did seem good at it," Vivanne added.
"Seem good at it? Are you people serious?!" Denise finally had enough. She was helping them and they were still disrespecting them, and by extension her friend. The only friend that actually wanted to be around her.
"What's your problem, Denise? Is it because you helping us now we will not hear the last of it?"
"Last of it? You have not even heard the beginning of it! People live here too, you might be privileged enough to know how normal people live but I cannot help you if you are picky. What have you people done for me except insult me? You watch Daniella be mean to me! Insult me and embarrass me for something that is out of my control! Do you know how awful it feels for your twin to not only hate you but to continually look for your downfall? Do you know how it feels to help an ungrateful person like you people?"
"Every day I go to school, I see you people and you make sure not to associate with me! I stay away from you because I do not want to be insulted but you do it and I ignore you! Then I still help you and you still act like this?"
"Okay, we will clean, you don't have to yell at us." Daniella rolled her eyes.
Denise groaned and shook her head."You are so delusional, Ella! You and your friends! You think that the world revolves around you! It doesn't! If you remove that stick up your ass for one second and you concern anyone but yourself maybe you would realize I am not getting out of this!"
"Why are you yelling at us? Why are you angry exactly?"
"I am angry because even with your shitty attitude, I still support you! I still put my safety and comfort at risk for your friend and you are still insulting me! You still see me as not good enough to be your twin! The only family I had is dead and in jail, what exactly have I done to you that is so bad that you hate me so much?! Even with your awful attitude I am currently keeping your secret and helping you. Or is it because you think I am not good enough for you?"
"What exactly is this, Denise? Some intervention? We don't have time for this! We need to get Ashley home."
"You people can go home! I will clean this place!" she sneered angrily, slamming the pot on the ground.
Ashley washed her from the chair, exhausted. Daniella and Vivanne stood by each other. Ashley hated the way her friends were acting but they did not know any better. The injection was numbing, she was sleeping and exhausted. There was no way she would even be able to stand.
