Han sat on the edge of the bridge, his legs dangling over the side, the cold wind biting at his skin. The river below seemed so far away, dark and ominous, reflecting the stormy sky above. It was late, long past midnight, and the only sounds were the distant hum of traffic and the occasional rustle of leaves from the trees behind him.

He looked down at his hands, his fingers trembling from the cold, or maybe from fear. He wasn't sure anymore. Everything felt numb. The bruises on his arms, the harsh words that echoed in his mind, the overwhelming weight pressing down on his chest, it all blurred together until he couldn't tell where the pain ended and he began.

Han had never thought it would come to this. He had always been the quiet one, the one who didn't fight back when the bullies pushed him, the one who smiled even when his world was falling apart. But lately, it had all become too much. The cruel words, the mocking laughter, the feeling of isolation that followed him everywhere he went... it was suffocating.

And tonight, it felt like there was no way out.

Tears burned at the corners of his eyes, but he didn't wipe them away. What was the point? No one cared. No one even noticed. He was invisible, a shadow in the background, the kid everyone picked on but never really saw.

He didn't want to be invisible anymore.

The thought of ending it all had been lurking in the back of his mind for weeks now, a whisper that grew louder with each passing day. He had fought it at first, pushing it away, telling himself it would get better. But the truth was, he didn't believe that anymore. He couldn't see a future where things would change, where the pain would stop.

Maybe this was the only way to make it all go away.

Just as Han closed his eyes, ready to let go, a voice called out from behind him.

"Han?"

His heart skipped a beat. He hadn't expected anyone to be here, not at this hour. Slowly, he turned around, and there, standing a few feet away, was Jeongin.

Jeongin. The boy with the kind eyes and the soft smile, the one who always sat at the back of the classroom but never really spoke to anyone. Han knew who he was, of course, everyone did, but they had never really talked. Not beyond a passing greeting or a nod in the hallway.

"What are you doing here?" Jeongin asked, his voice gentle but laced with concern.

Han quickly wiped at his eyes, trying to mask the tears. "N-nothing. Just... thinking."

Jeongin took a cautious step closer, his eyes never leaving Han. "You don't look like you're just thinking."

Han's throat tightened, and he looked away, back down at the water below. "What does it matter?"

Jeongin didn't respond right away. Instead, he walked over and sat down beside Han, close enough that their shoulders almost touched but not so close that it felt invasive. He didn't push, didn't demand answers. He just sat there, waiting, as if giving Han the space to decide what he wanted to say.

After a long moment, Han spoke, his voice barely a whisper. "I don't think I can do this anymore."

Jeongin turned to look at him, his expression unreadable. "Do what?"

"Everything," Han whispered, his voice cracking. "School. Life. It's too much."

There was silence for a beat, the weight of Han's words hanging in the air between them. Jeongin didn't say anything at first, but Han could feel his presence, steady and grounding.
