Jisung gritted his teeth as he stomped down the hallway of his university's arts building. Of all the people he could have been paired with for the final project in his design class, it had to be Hyunjin. Perfect, talented, infuriating Hyunjin.

The moment the professor had called out their names together, Jisung had felt his stomach drop. It wasn't that he hated Hyunjin. Hate was too strong a word. But there was something about him, the way he carried himself with effortless grace, the way people naturally gravitated toward him, that made Jisung's skin crawl. And of course, Hyunjin was brilliant. His work in class was always flawless, which only made Jisung feel more competitive.

Jisung prided himself on being creative and hardworking. He had a style that was bold, daring, maybe even a little chaotic, but it was his. Hyunjin, on the other hand, was precise and polished, his pieces always clean and minimalistic. Their styles clashed like night and day, and Jisung was dreading the thought of trying to combine them into a single project.

As he approached the studio room where they were supposed to meet, Jisung took a deep breath. He had to get through this. Just one project. He could tolerate Hyunjin for a few weeks. It wasn't like they had to be friends.

When he pushed the door open, Hyunjin was already there, sitting at one of the drafting tables, sketching something in his notebook. His long blond hair was pulled back in a loose ponytail, and he looked annoyingly serene. As if he wasn't the source of Jisung's frustration.

"Hey," Jisung said, dropping his bag onto the table with more force than necessary.

Hyunjin looked up, his dark eyes flicking toward Jisung with that usual calm detachment. "You're late."

Jisung scoffed, sliding into the chair across from him. "By five minutes. Not a big deal."

"It is when we have a lot of work to do," Hyunjin replied, his tone infuriatingly even. He didn't even look ruffled, like he had expected nothing less than Jisung's tardiness.

Jisung rolled his eyes. "Right, because you don't have anything else to do but this project."

"I manage my time," Hyunjin said with a shrug, turning his attention back to his sketchbook. "Maybe you should try it."

Jisung clenched his jaw, trying to keep his temper in check. Hyunjin had a way of getting under his skin with just a few words. "You know what? Let's just get started. We can argue later."

Hyunjin glanced at him, the smallest hint of a smirk tugging at the corner of his lips. "Fine by me."

They spent the next hour discussing ideas for their project, though it felt more like a battle of wills than a collaboration. Jisung suggested bold, experimental designs that pushed boundaries, while Hyunjin countered with clean, minimalist concepts that left no room for the wild creativity Jisung thrived on. Every idea Jisung threw out was met with skepticism from Hyunjin, and every suggestion Hyunjin made felt like a personal attack on Jisung's style.

"This isn't working," Jisung finally snapped, pushing his chair back from the table. His frustration had reached a boiling point. "We're just going in circles."

"Maybe because you're not listening," Hyunjin said coolly, leaning back in his chair with an infuriating calmness.

Jisung's eyes narrowed. "I'm listening just fine. But you're not compromising at all. You just want everything to look perfect and polished, like you always do."
