"Natasha never thought she'd find peace in this world, but with Jenna, everything felt right."
The soft glow of the nightlight cast gentle shadows on the walls of Stella's room as Natasha and Jenna tucked their five-year-old daughter into bed. The colorful blankets, adorned with cheerful stars and moons, enveloped Stella.
"Goodnight, my little star" Natasha said, brushing a strand of hair from Stella's forehead.
"Night, Mama" Stella replied, her green eyes sparkling with sleepiness. "Can I play with Atlas in the playroom tomorrow?"
Jenna glanced at Natasha, a knowing smile creeping onto her lips. Every time she saw their daughter's striking green eyes, she was reminded of Natasha's own—vibrant, full of life, and impossibly charming. After all it was her wife, her partner, and the love of her life. It made saying no feel like an impossible task.
Natasha smiled gently, brushing a curl from Stella's forehead. "You know, I think that can be arranged" she said, her voice playful
"Okay!" Stella giggled, snuggling deeper under the covers.
Jenna leaned down, pressing a kiss to Stella's forehead. "Goodnight, my sweet girl,"
Natasha followed suit, kissing her daughter softly. "Sweet dreams, Stel"
"Love you moms" Stella murmured, her eyes fluttering closed.
After a moment, Jenna and Natasha quietly slipped out of Stella's room, moving to Atlas's room next door. Just before Jenna opened the door, Natasha raised an eyebrow and said, "I wonder how long it will take before they're at each other's throats."
Jenna chuckled softly. "Can you just enjoy that our children are getting along for now?"
Natasha laughed, shaking her head. Jenna opened the door, and they were greeted by a whirlwind of energy. Atlas was bouncing on his bed, giggling as he jumped.
"Hey, you're gonna fall" Natasha exclaimed, rushing in to catch him before he could tumble off.
She glanced at Jenna, raising an eyebrow. "Are you sure he's ready for a bed?"
"He's fine, Nat. He's old enough for his own bed" Jenna replied, rolling her eyes with a smile.
Natasha sighed dramatically, then picked Atlas up and gently placed him back in bed, tucking the blanket over him. Atlas clutched two bears tightly in his hands.
"Hey there, young man" Jenna said, pretending to scold him. "Did you steal Mr. Bear from your sister?"
Just then, they heard little patters across the hallway, and the door creaked open. Stella stood there, eyes wide. "Atlas has Mr. Bear!"
Natasha looked at Atlas. "You wanna give it back to your sister?"
Without hesitation, Atlas tossed the bear at Stella, who caught it with both hands, giggling.
"Great, your mother's reflexes too" Jenna teased, scooping up Stella and bringing her back to her room.
As Jenna left, Natasha turned back to Atlas, tucking him in again. "It's late, mister. You need to sleep." Atlas just laughed. "You got your mom's laugh too, huh?" Natasha said, running her hand through his hair affectionately.
"Goodnight, baby" she whispered.
"Love you, Mama" Atlas replied, snuggling deeper into his blankets.
Just then, Jenna walked back in and grinned at Natasha. "Stella is down, and I see this one is still up."
