The house was quiet as Natasha and Jenna tiptoed down the hallway, their footsteps muffled by the wood floor. They had just tucked Stella and Atlas into bed. Jenna's eyes sparkled with a mix of exhaustion and satisfaction as she glanced back at Natasha.

"You think they're finally asleep?" Jenna asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

Natasha nodded, brushing a strand of hair behind Jenna's ear. "I'm pretty sure they are. Atlas was out like a light before I even finished reading him his story."

They made their way to the kitchen, where Jenna sighed as she spotted the pile of dishes waiting for her. "I'll just finish these up" Jenna said,  "It won't take long."

Natasha watched as Jenna rolled up her sleeves and turned on the tap, the soft clinking of dishes filling the quiet space. She approached her wife, her footsteps almost silent. Reaching out, Natasha gently placed her hands around Jenna's waist and rested her head on her shoulder.

"It's late" Natasha murmured, her voice low and soothing. "You should go get ready for bed. I can finish this."

Jenna smiled faintly, feeling the warmth of Natasha's touch. "It's okay. I'm almost done" Jenna insisted.

Natasha tightened her hold slightly, her breath warm against Jenna's neck. "It wasn't a question" she said gently, her tone leaving no room for argument.

Jenna stopped washing the dish and turned her head slightly to look at Natasha. "Oh really?" she asked, her voice teasing.

With a playful glint in her eye, Jenna reached up and tapped Natasha's cheek with her wet hand. Natasha's eyes widened in mock surprise. "You did not just do that" she said.

Before Jenna could react, Natasha swiftly splashed some water from the running sink onto Jenna's arm. The cool droplets sent a shiver down Jenna's spine, causing her to laugh. "Oh, it's on now" Jenna exclaimed, her laughter filling the kitchen.

Natasha grinned, "You started it" she said. Natasha noticed the shift in Jenna's stance as she turned off the sink, a clear signal that Jenna was serious. Natasha took a step back, her eyes widening in playful anticipation. "Listen, baby, the water's cold" she said, trying to keep her voice steady as she backed up toward the fridge.

Jenna turned around, her hands still wet and dripping. She moved toward Natasha. "You didn't have a problem getting my shirt wet" Jenna retorted, her tone light but teasing.

Natasha's back hit the fridge, her laughter barely contained. "Okay, okay" she said, raising her hands in a mock surrender. But as Jenna approached, Natasha suddenly pulled Jenna close, gently holding her hands away from her body.

Their faces were inches apart. Natasha's eyes softened, and she leaned in, capturing Jenna's lips in a kiss. The moment their lips met, Jenna's laughter melted into a contented sigh, and Natasha felt her own heart flutter with the warmth of the kiss. She held Jenna close, savoring the sweetness of her lips.

As the kiss deepened, Natasha felt Jenna's hands slowly slipping free. Jenna took the opportunity to cup Natasha's face with her cold, wet hands. Natasha shivered slightly but didn't pull away. Instead, she pulled back just enough to look into Jenna's eyes, "Cold" Natasha exclaimed Jenna's hands away gently.

Jenna grinned,  "I'm Russian. I don't get cold" she said, mimicking Natasha's dramatic tone.

Natasha squirmed a bit, but couldn't hide her smile. With a feigned frown, Natasha gently squished Jenna's cheeks between her hands. "You are mean" Natasha said.

Jenna's cheeks were still firmly pressed between Natasha's hands, her voice coming out a bit muffled. "Can I get a kiss?" she asked, her tone a mix of playful and sweet.

Natasha's expression softened, a tender smile spreading across her face. Natasha couldn't resist. "Alright, alright" Natasha said, her voice warm.

Natasha's eyes softened as she leaned in to give Jenna a kiss. The moment her lips were close to Jenna's, Jenna couldn't resist a playful impulse. She extended her tongue and gave Natasha's cheek a quick, teasing lick.

Natasha recoiled slightly, "Ew" she exclaimed, scrunching up her face.

Jenna quickly covered Natasha's mouth with her fingers. "Shh, the kids are sleeping"

Natasha's eyes widened, but the corners of her mouth twitched up in a smile despite the playful reprimand. She tried to speak through Jenna's hand, but her words were muffled.

Jenna's eyes danced with affection as she pulled back just enough to look into Natasha's eyes. "Now, how about that kiss?" Jenna asked, her tone softening.

Natasha's eyes sparkled with a blend of amusement and mock suspicion as she looked at Jenna. "You're not going to lick me again, are you?" she asked, her tone playful and teasing.

Jenna's eyes twinkled as she saw Natasha's playful suspicion. Without warning, she reached out, grabbing Natasha's shirt. The sudden tug brought Natasha closer, their faces only inches apart once again.

Natasha's breath caught in her throat as Jenna's lips met hers in a tender kiss. The kiss was warm and full of love. Natasha's hands instinctively cupped Jenna's face, pulling her even closer as they savored the moment.

As they finally pulled away, their eyes locked, both of them smiling.  "I love you" Natasha murmured.

Jenna's eyes mirrored the warmth of Natasha's, her smile growing even brighter. "I love you too" she replied, her tone equally heartfelt.

Natasha's smile widened as an idea struck her. She reached into her pocket and pulled out her phone, unlocking it with a quick swipe. Navigating to her music app, she selected "Apocalypse" by Cigarettes After Sex and hit play. The soft, melancholic melody began to fill the kitchen, creating a serene and romantic atmosphere.

As the song started, Natasha turned to Jenna, without saying a word, she gently ushered Jenna forward, guiding her toward the center of the kitchen. Natasha then made her way to the fridge, opening it, letting the light shine through.

Jenna laughed, catching on to Natasha's playful intent. "You do know the kitchen light is on, right?" she teased, her voice light with amusement.

Natasha glanced over her shoulder, "Give me a second women."

She quickly moved to the light switch and turned it off, plunging the kitchen into a cozy, dim glow. Returning to Jenna, Natasha pulled her into an embrace, guiding her to sway gently to the music.

Jenna chuckled, her laughter mingling with the soft strains of the song. "Cheesy" she said, shaking her head with a grin.

Natasha's eyes narrowed playfully, though her smile remained. "Shut up and dance with me" she said.

Jenna's resistance melted away as she settled into Natasha's arms, her head resting on Natasha's shoulder.  The world outside seemed to disappear. The dim light of the kitchen created an intimate, nostalgic ambiance that transported them back in time.

For a fleeting moment, they felt like they were twenty again, dancing in Jenna's college apartment. The memories of their younger selves, carefree and filled with the thrill of new love, came rushing back. They could almost see the worn-out sofa and the mismatched furniture of that old apartment.

Natasha's arms around Jenna felt as familiar and comforting as they had back then, and Jenna's head resting on Natasha's shoulder was just as perfect as it had been in those early days.

The only difference this time was that Natasha knew something her younger self hadn't fully grasped. Natasha looked at the girl in her arms—the same girl who had once been her mission—was now more than that. She was her everything. This was the woman she loved more deeply than she could have ever imagined.
