Cheating is a choice not a accident. But, I chose it for you...
"Soobin, I'm going to take a shower," Soobin announced. "Oh, okay, hyung," Beomgyu replied, but as Soobin stepped in, his phone rang. Curious, Beomgyu glanced at the screen and saw a contact saved as "YUNA ❤."
Without thinking much, he called out, "Hyung, some YUNA heart is calling. Should I pick it up?" Soobin's voice came back in alarm, "Huh?! What? No, don't answer!" Beomgyu raised an eyebrow, "Who is she?" "No one," Soobin quickly replied. "Oh, okay..." Beomgyu said, still puzzled.
Later, during dinner, Beomgyu was engrossed in his phone, barely paying attention to Soobin or the food. Soobin broke the silence, "Beomie, are you upset about that call?" Beomgyu looked up, confused. "About what?" "The Yuna call," Soobin prompted. "What does that have to do with me?" Beomgyu shot back, shrugging. Soobin sighed, "Ohh..."
Then Beomgyu continued, "Hyung! I read a news article last night—some boy was stabbed to death for cheating on his girlfriend." Soobin choked on his ramen, and Beomgyu quickly passed him the water bottle. "Hyung, eat carefully!" he admonished. Ignoring the gravity of Beomgyu's comment, Soobin quickly shifted the topic.
"Tomorrow, let's go to the members' dorm. It's been a while since we saw Hyun and Hyuka." Beomgyu laughed, "Yeah, Tyunning..." and they both chuckled.
The next day, after dropping Beomgyu at their dorm, Soobin said he had something important to attend to. Beomgyu settled in, chatting with the others when he mused, "It's been three hours. Soobin hasn't come back yet."
Taehyun chimed in, "Huening ran into his ex at the mall. She's a K-pop idol now and is dating Sunghoon."
Beomgyu smirked, "Bro, are you jealous?" Taehyun quickly defended, "Huh? We were never dating! Just fake dating for fun." Huening Kai added, "Yeah, we're straight." Beomgyu raised an eyebrow, "Does anyone actually do that?"
Just then, his phone beeped. "It's a message from Soobin!" He opened it and read aloud, "Beomgyu, I have something to say... My blind date was successful, and we are dating now..." His voice cracked in disbelief.
"What?! Hyung??" Taehyun and Huening exchanged confused glances as Beomgyu blurted, "I'm leaving! I need to ask him directly!" Before they could stop him, he dashed out of their home.
When Beomgyu arrived home, a sinking feeling washed over him as he noticed the absence of Soobin's belongings. "He planned this all," he said coldly, tears streaming down his cheeks. Suddenly, an icy chill enveloped the room, sending shivers down his spine. He dashed into their shared bedroom and flopped onto the bed, feeling something hard beneath the blanket. He pulls it out and finds
Poor Clumsy Soobin has left his HYBE entry ID Card. He needs it. Or else, he can't enter tomorrow to their building.
Soobin's POV:
"I have to go back..." Panic surged through me. "How could I forget that?" I punched in the door PIN, reassuring myself that Beomgyu wouldn't be there—he'd probably be crying with Taehyun, seeking comfort in their dorm. I stepped inside, my heart racing. My ID card lay on the dining table, and I approached it cautiously, trying to make no noise. Then, a chilling thought hit me—what Beomgyu had said last night about a guy getting stabbed for cheating. My stomach twisted. What if this was the worst plan ever? I snatched the card and turned to leave, but in my haste, I knocked over a glass. It shattered, water splattering everywhere.
"The lanyard..." I realized, "the glass was between the lanyard!" Frustrated, I turned back toward the front door and bolted out.
"Stop, hyung... We broke up. Do you really expect me to clean up your mess?" Beomgyu's voice cut through the air, devoid of warmth. I looked at him, and his eyes told a story of pain. They were red and puffy, the trails of tears still visible on his cheeks. He threw a towel and gloves at me. "Clean and go."
Embarrassment washed over me; it was the most humiliating moment of my life. I couldn't bear to meet his gaze—not from guilt, but sheer shame. I started cleaning, feeling his eyes on me, heavy and accusatory. As I neared the end of my task, he broke the silence.
"Soobin, anything to say about our relationship?"
"I'm sorry if I hurt you... I thought it was all platonic. I've always been straight," I replied, my voice trembling.
"Oh... you're a perfect leader. You dated me during my struggles because I had talent, and you were scared I'd leave HYBE if we broke up."
"No! I took care of you because we were friends. It was all friendly!" I insisted, but my voice felt weak.
Beomgyu bitterly chuckled, "Yeah... for you. By the way..." I couldn't see his face, but I noticed a tear hit the ground. "When can we meet her?"
"Huh? You want to meet her? I mean... yeah, soon... Also, I'm moving out..."
"I can see that already," he said, the hurt palpable in his voice.
"I'm sorry..."
"Is it Yuna?"
I placed the cover near the table leg, mustering the strength to look at him one last time. "Yes..." I said, and without another word, I walked toward the door, not daring to turn back.
Beomgyu's POV:
Soobin hyung left me... I don't know what to do. My heart felt heavy, and the emptiness in the room was suffocating. That's when I noticed a pair of scissors hanging on the side of the shelf. It reminded me of those k-drama scenes in shows where female lead chop their hair after a breakup, emerging with a fierce new look. Maybe I could do that too.
With a sudden rush of determination, I grabbed the scissors and my phone, then made my way to the bathroom. I opened the scissors, gripping a handful of my hair between the blades. My camera app blinked to life, and I snapped a photo—a faded memory of this moment, a way to remember the pain and perhaps a new beginning.
Just then, my phone buzzed with a message. I glanced down and my heart dropped. It was from HYBE PD-nim. I opened it, my heart racing, and read the words:
"BEOMGYU, DON'T CUT YOUR HAIR..."
