Chapter - 7 : His girl

The Next Day

 After two hours of practice, the trainees finally took a break. Beomgyu sat on a chair, his bones and his eyes were tired. But, they still scanned the room until they landed on Soobin, who was lying on the floor. His hair glistened with sweat, and despite his exhaustion, he exuded an undeniable charm. Beomgyu felt his breath hitch; Soobin in a black t-shirt was a sight that always took his breath away.

Just as he was lost in his thoughts, the door swung open, and a girl wearing a mask rushed in, calling out, "Soobinnnie!!!"

Soobin's head snapped up, and without hesitation, he jumped to his feet, a radiant smile breaking across his face. Beomgyu watched, heart sinking, as Soobin rushed towards her. The girl barely reached his neck, but their connection was palpable. Soobin side-hugged her, and they looked so comfortable together, as if they were two pieces of a puzzle fitting perfectly.

Beomgyu felt like the ground had fallen from beneath him. His heart seemed to stop, and his face went pale. A wave of helplessness washed over him, and he wished for someone—anyone—to pull him out of that room.

Amidst the chatter and laughter, Soobin took a quick glance at Beomgyu before turning back to Heeseung and saying, "I wrote the song for her..."

Those words pierced through the air like a dagger, cutting deep into Beomgyu's chest. It felt as though the walls were closing in around him. The weight of the moment became unbearable, and he quickly walked towards the exit, desperate for a breath of fresh air. But before he could escape, a warm hand fell on his wrist, pulling him back.

It was Taehyun, a smile plastered on his face as he gently pulls Beomgyu towards Soobin and Jennie. "Oh my gosh... Jennie sunbae!" Taehyun exclaimed, feigning an exaggerated astonishment. "Look at our Gyu! Blushing and with teary eyes!"

Beomgyu's mouth fell open in disbelief, and Soobin and Jennie exchanged glances, equally taken aback. Beomgyu wasn't blushing—he was on the verge of tears. But Taehyun seemed unfazed, pressing on with his playful banter. "Soobin hyung, this is the best gift you could ever give to our Gyu! Beomgyu is a blink, and you just made his biggest dream come true. Do you even know how expensive Blackpink concert tickets are? Sunbae, would you mind if Beomgyu takes a selfie with you?"

Jennie looked completely confused, her eyes darting between Soobin and Beomgyu. She saw Soobin was more shocked than her. After all, she couldn't reject a blink—never ever. "Yeah... of course! Come on, Beomgyu..." she agreed, her voice warm.

Taehyun enthusiastically pushed Beomgyu between Jennie and Soobin, the proximity causing Beomgyu's heart to race for all the wrong reasons. In order not to get too close to Jennie sunbae and maintain a proper space between them. Beomgyu moves back and accidentally trips over Soobin's leg, and Soobin's quick reflex catches Beomgyu by the waist on time. It was a messy scene, and Taehyun chose to add to the awkwardness. "Gyu, stop being a couple in front of your idol! Guys, at least not now! "

Flustered, Beomgyu quickly jumped back to his feet, offering an awkward smile as Taehyun took the photo. The pressure of the moment was overwhelming; Beomgyu didn't felt like crying anymore but, he now, felt like dying. All thanks to Taehyun.

Once the photo was snapped, Beomgyu cleared his throat, trying to regain some composure. "Hi Jennie noona, I'm Beomgyu, I am one of the biggest blink..."

"Ohhh, nice meeting you, Beomgyu! Uh... what's your favorite song?" Jennie asked, her interest genuine.

"Let's kill this love!" Beomgyu says without thinking much, and the words hung awkwardly in the air. Soobin flinched, shock written across his face. At first, Beomgyu and Jennie didn't understand what was wrong? Beomgyu then, recapped what he said. He realized none of them knew that was a song not a statement. Not even Soobin. Before Beomgyu could give a description, Huening takes the opportunity to mess up more.

"What? You want Jennie and Soobin to break up? For you? Why? To have Jennie? Or Soobin?" His teasing voice rang out, and Taehyun quickly pulled Kai back, whispering urgently, "What the hell was that, Kai??"

Beomgyu's cheeks burned with humiliation. "No! I didn't mean it like that! It's a song title," he exclaimed, his voice a mix of panic and embarrassment.

Jennie stood there, smiling awkwardly, "Aww... uhh... that's my favorite too, I guess..." she replied, trying to ease the tension.

A silence settled over the group, and in that moment, Soobin couldn't take his eyes off Beomgyu's flushed face. The sight made his heart race, and a genuine smile began to form on his lips, though he quickly suppressed it, not wanting to draw more attention to Beomgyu's embarrassment.

Just then, the door swung open, and Zico walked in, calling out for Jennie and Soobin. "Hey, you two! I was waiting in my recording room for so long? You guys are here... Let's go!"

Jennie waved goodbye to Beomgyu, Kai and Taehyun, her expression brightening. "See you later!" she called as she walked out with Soobin, leaving Beomgyu feeling both relieved and disappointed.

As soon as they left, Beomgyu turned to Taehyun, frustration boiling over. "Bro, what the hell was that??"

"Nothing. Just make any obstacle into your chance," Taehyun replied with a shrug, an infuriatingly casual tone in his voice. He started to walk out, and Beomgyu watched him incredulously.

Taehyun made his way to Yeonjun, who had been peering through the window to catch the last bit of the interaction. "You saw, right? From the window?" Taehyun asked, a hint of mischief in his voice.

Yeonjun nodded, still processing everything he had just witnessed. "Thanks, but do you think this will work?"

Taehyun smirked, confidence radiating from him. "Taehyun's plan can never go wrong," he declared, a glint of determination in his eyes before walking away.
