Ling respectfully began to bow before Mei.

"Please make me your student!"

Mei was a bit shocked. She knew just how crippled she was now. Why on earth would she want to be her student of all people.

Mei nearly frowned at the statement but kept her poker face for the moment. She was curious at why this development happened.

Mei began to think out loud.

"Is this something you have to talk to your master about?"

When she says Master she assumes I was owned by someone? She did ask me that back then in the camp.

She then began to try to contact the system.

A few minutes pass and nothing occurs.

Mei gained a worried face overtime.

What had happened to her system.

"Are you trying to contact your master? I apologize, I had to stop the seal on your tail blossom. Otherwise you would have died."

The tail blossom? Mei remembered it to be the area where her tails connect to her body, and the area above it too.

It is said the tail bone blossoms like a flower at that point, and is the focal point of all the Qi a Fox channels.

It also just happened to be their most sensitive area.

But Mei preferred she not remember that fact.

But she never once noticed a seal there before, although she had never once bothered to look directly on her back while she was a fox.

Also the fact that Ying was able to seal her power must mean she must be already so powerful at a young age. Did she already learn some of the Saint techniques she would learn later at life?

Mei was now in a new conundrum.

Should she explain the system or something about it.

She assumed Ling had put the seal on her to prevent the system from continuing to shock her.

However she could not exactly use the system or get its benefits if it was sealed.

Nor could she really know much about what to go off of, since Mei could no longer see the Darkening Value, if she could see it anyways.

"Meng Li, if it is okay with you, can you tell me the nature of your contract with your master?"

"What? Why do you wish to know that."

"You seem to be in constant pain, and I wish to really know if it is worth whatever it is your master is doing to you."

Ling spoke in pure innocence, like those pure maidens you would meet in a otome game.

Mei wasn't sure what information she can really give away. Could she really just tell her about her reincarnation? Her system and everything else?

Does it break the rules? All the system alluded to was to follow the rules and the story.

Though, Mei did not want to risk anything.

So she decided just to play a white lie instead.
