The next morning, sunlight filtered through the curtains as Roy woke up, his gaze immediately falling on Riya, who was sleeping peacefully beside him. Her soft breathing and serene expression stirred something deep within him, but he knew the situation needed to be handled delicately.
He didn't want to disturb her, but the thought of her waking up and realizing what had happened worried him. She would definitely be angry, and he didn't want to deal with that. So, quietly, Roy slipped out of bed, gathering her scattered clothes from the night before.
With careful hands, he started to dress her, moving slowly so as not to wake her. He gently buttoned her shirt and smoothed out her dress, making sure everything was in place. His movements were tender, as if trying to protect her even in her sleep.
Once she was dressed, he stepped back, satisfied that when she woke up, she would feel more at ease. Roy then left the room quietly, leaving Riya to rest in peace.
An hour later, Riya slowly woke up, blinking as her eyes adjusted to the unfamiliar surroundings. The soft light filtering into the room was warm, but confusion clouded her mind. She glanced around, trying to figure out where she was. The luxurious room, the large bed—none of it looked familiar.
Her heart started racing as she tried to recall the events of the previous night. The last thing she remembered was sitting with Ashok at the restaurant, feeling dizzy after drinking the juice. Then, everything went blurry.
She sat up, her hands clutching the bedsheets, trying to piece it together. Why am I here? Where's Ashok? The fear of the unknown crept up her spine. She had no idea how she ended up in this place
Panic surged through Riya as a terrifying thought crossed her mind: Had Ashok taken advantage of me while I was unconscious? Her breath quickened, and she frantically checked herself, scanning for any signs of harm or violation.
Her heart pounded as she tried to make sense of her scattered memories. How did I end up here? What happened after I passed out?
But as she looked down, she noticed something strange—her clothes were intact, though they seemed to have been put on carefully. This wasn't Ashok's doing, she felt certain of that. Her confusion deepened.
Riya, still disoriented, slowly walked towards the dining table, her eyes landing on the fresh breakfast that had been laid out neatly. The smell of food was inviting, but her mind was elsewhere, still trying to piece together what had happened the previous night. Just then, she heard footsteps behind her.
Turning around, she saw Roy approaching, holding a glass of medicine in one hand. His expression was calm but unreadable. "Are you awake?" he asked, his voice steady.
Riya blinked, her heart racing as questions swirled in her head. "What happened last night?" she asked cautiously, her voice barely above a whisper.
Riya's eyes widened as Roy's words sank in. "You... brought me here?" she asked, still processing the situation. Memories of the night were fuzzy, but she remembered feeling dizzy and losing control.
Roy nodded, stepping closer and gently handing her the glass of medicine. "Ashok tried to take advantage of you. He drugged your drink, but I stopped him before anything worse could happen. You were too weak, so I brought you here to keep you safe."
Riya's heart skipped a beat, relief washing over her, but also confusion. She looked at Roy, unsure of what to say, her mind racing between gratitude and lingering doubt. "Thank you... but why here? Why not the hospital?"
Roy handed her the glass of medicine and started to speak, but paused for a moment, measuring his words. "You were in a bad state last night," he said, his voice calm but firm. "If anyone had seen you like that... in that dress, barely conscious, it could have led to misunderstandings. I didn't want to put you through that."
