Arielle's POV

Ok. So I fell, that's not important. The important thing is that I glow. Not even kidding. That night after The Incident, I shakily went to bed, but I couldn't sleep. Mostly because my body was a human night light. Ky tried to talk to me about what happened that day, but I couldn't. Maybe Ky didn't understand. I had been called a freak my whole life. This would confirm it, I couldn't do that to myself. Eventually, I stopped talking to Ky. Whenever he saw me he would just shake his head all disappointed like. Ky stopped being my best friend, Stella Woods and Lisabeth Jenson replaced him. I wasn't sure how I felt about it. My head said it was a great idea, but my heart, that thing wasn't with the program. Whenever I saw him my heart would flutter and my stomach felt like a dishrag that was being squeezed and twisted to death. Don't get me wrong Lis and Stel were great, but we didn't have the easy friendship that I used to have with Kyrin. The Week of Great and Momentaous and Stupid Things, had just began, even though nobody knew it. That Monday, I felt sick. I was constantly throwing up and my head felt like a thousand tigunnies(A/N Sorry guys! I couldn't help myself)were having a jumping contest in there.

"Honey?" Grandmama knocked on the door of our shared bedroom. "It's time for school. Your a 5th year now. I even made your favorite, cinnamon bread!"

I knew how much Grandmama must have saved to buy the expensive( at least to us), cinnamon, so I tried to choke one down. I really did. But my stomach decided that the food was so good that my mouth should revisit it.

Blech.

Grandmama felt my forehead. "Oh, sweetie, Ari dearest? You most definitely have a fever."

"Great Chief Sander." I saluted the Chief. He had all of a sudden replaced Grandmama.

"Sweetheart?" He asked.

"I'm not your sweetheart, silly-billy! I'm Arifell. I mean Arielle."

"I'm going to get the doctor, darling." Chief said.

" All right. Nice wings Chief Sander!" I proclaimed. Chief looked confused. "Those, Mr. Chiefie sir." I pointed at the large, rather beautiful, purple wings that had erupted out of his back.

" Honey, go back to bed. I'm gonna be back real soon, ok?"

"Yes sir." I saluted again and marched back to Grandmama and I's room.

I spent the rest of the day mumbling about ice breaking and shiny lights. Fun. Apparently, I had some sort of rare virus that could only show up if you had close contact with a type of flower that grew at the bottom of Lily's Pond. The doctor asked how I had had contact with the flower, the virus attacked a year after contact with the flower. As far as Healer Oleander knew, my last fall into the lake was three years ago, when he officially became the Healer of Witzann. I told him I must have had a delayed reaction.

One time I could have sworn I saw Ky but I had thought Grandmama was Chief Sander, so I didn't really trust my eyes at that point.

When I went to school, Stel and Lis were gushing about the new boy. Alec Annesly. Apparently, he was so cute and he was from the capital, Lorian. His family was distantly related to King Florian and Queen Rosa, who was from Falion, the country north of us.

"Whatever." I rolled my eyes.

"And he's such a gentleman," Lis continued. " Yesterday, I accidentally broke my pencil at recess and he immediately gave me his."

Stella awed.

"Do you guys mind? I'm trying to eat lunch here. And if this guy is so great where is he?"

"Well, duh Ari. Alec is a 6th year who-is coming here rightnowohmygodhowdoIlook?" Stel hyperventilated.

"Hey you guys." He smiled. "Can I sit with you?"

He sat next to Lis. She tried not to faint.

"So, Alec, what do you got for lunch?" I asked trying not to be impolite.

"Um... A lobster- Aah!" He screamed.

"What's the matter?" I asked.

"Lobster got me." He held up the claw of the steamed lobster. "Sorry, I know it's lame."

"We all have those moments Alec... You just more than others." I smirked.

"Hey!" He exclaimed, even though he was trying not to laugh.

Silently, we looked at each other. We both burst into laughter.

Kyron's POV

Arielle and that new guy, Balec were laughing like crazy people. I missed Ari. More than anything I missed her laugh and her voice and her smile and her... Well the point is, that day that Arielle fell into the lake (Both times) I felt like my heart was being ripped out. Finally, maybe too late, I realized I had been crushing on her since I was six. She obviously didn't feel the same way. The next day, Stella said that Ari and Balec were an official thing now. They must have really hit it off, cause Ari had only knew him for a day. Stel also kindly reminded me that the kid's name was Alec not Balec. I'm still sore from that. On our 10th birthday, Ari wished that we would always be together. It seemed like a childish wish but it gave me a sort of strange hope that I didn't understand till today. Was it going to be like this for all Dukawig guys? You meet the love of your life but she doesn't like you back so you marry someone you sort of like while your love has kids? Was Ari going to have twins someday? If that's true then I'm changing my name to Kyrin Woods (My mom's maiden name). The name Dukawig was cursed.

That Saturday, I went to the glade, with a box of all of Ari and I's things. I was going to burn all of our memories together. Then I saw the figure in the white dress, crying huge, raucous sobs. I walked up to her and put my hand on her shoulder.

"Are you okay?" I asked.

The figure judo flipped me over her shoulder, and I was lying on the grass, my box of memories scattered everywhere.

"We gotta stop meeting like this." Arielle said.

"What are you doing here?" I asked.

" Um. Alec is out of town and Lis and Stel are sick so I decided to visit our old hangout."

"Oh. Your boyfriend." I grumbled.

" Who? Alec? No, we're just good friends. Did Stel tell you this? She's been shipping us since we met."

I looked at her in astonishment.

"Hey, you wanna see something awesome? Come on." She pulled me to the edge of Izelle's Cliff. "Look up."

I saw the stars like I had never seen them before.

"They're beautiful."

"Beautiful." I agreed. But I wasn't looking at the stars.

"Are we friends again?" Ari asked.

"Best friends." And we gazed at the stars.

Ok, I'm going to make this short. Hi!
