Arielle's POV

When Briana stepped out of the dressing room, I'm pretty sure my heart blew up, in happiness, of course. She was wearing a dark blue gown with long trailing sleeves, that was specked with pearls that had been sewn on. Her hair was also threaded with pearls. Bri kind of reminded me of me when I got princessified. Completely and utterly shocked that we could look so good.

" I. Look. Amazing!" Briana squealed.

"Don't be conceited." Mara admonished.

"You so totally do!" I said, squealing also.

We grabbed each others hands and began squealing in a two part harmony.

Mara rolled her eyes. Lyth rushed in holding his sword up.

"Who's hurt? Where is the bad guy?" He brandished his sword higher.

"No ones hurt." I shook my head. "Look at Bri!" Bri stepped out from behind me.

Lyth's face softened. "My Queen." He joked, bowing.

Bri smirked. " Bring your lady an ice cream, preferably strawberry."

Lyth winked. " Of course milady." He said, bowing out of the room.

"I can't believe you got him to do that." Mara stared.

"What can I say? I have a gift." Bri said haughtily.

"Which reminds me, I have to go. Ky and I are meeting for study in an hour. Bye." I remembered.

I ran out of the dressing room. " Have fun on your date!" Bri shouted.

I smiled. Right before smacking into someone.

"Oh! Darling! I was just looking for you." It was Queen Izelle.

"Yes ma'am?" I said respectfully.

"Your bethrothed, Duke Farrow Ellington, will be at Bri's Birthday Ball tomorrow." The Queen smiled.

"Alrigh-wait what? Bethrothed? How old is this guy anyway?" I sputtered.

"He is 35 and very rich." Izelle simpered.

"I'm FIFTEEN!" I shouted. "I won't do it! You can't make me!" And I ran. Right into the King.

"Listen here, Arielle. Your precious Grandmama is very sick and every time you hurt your mother, she gets a little bit closer to dying."

"Your hurting Grandmama? You're BLACKMAILING me? Your own daughter?" I said, shocked.

"Whatever it takes." And he flew away.

Ky sat, waiting for me, at our favorite table, at our favorite library. How could I tell him that I was getting married? Why did it matter? I slid into the seat across from Kyron. He began to talk about our science quiz. I tuned him out, only hearing a few words.

"Ari? Hey! Arielle!" Ky said waving his hand in front of my face.

I snapped out of my reverie. "Oh? What? Um... C!" I stammered.

"It was a paragraph question. What's up with you? I haven't seen you this unfocused since you ate six of those "cookies" that Mrs. Summers brought in."

"Gross." We shudder in unison.

Soon after that we left. The whole time, just on thought echoed in my mind.
