Hehe I just finished writing chapters eight and nine and I'm about to start ten. I'll post eight Wednesday and hopefully nine by the end of the week- should hopefully have this wrapped up in a week!!

Thank you for following me so far on this silly little endeavor and I hope you still like it so far!!

Levi takes a sick day the next day, purely to avoid his coworkers.

Naturally, he receives about fifty texts that would qualify as harassment, and while the standard procedure would be to report the texts to HR, HR is the source of more than half of those messages. Instead, he shuts his phone off and starts his day with a deep clean of his kitchen.

Deep cleaning is normally a great distraction for him, but for whatever ridiculous reason, you're still occupying his thoughts.

He goes to work on Friday and is sufficiently harassed. The harassment and teasing is damn near relentless until he starts threatening to stab people with his cactus. For the most part, it subsides after that.

He's been trying not to think about you all day, but when his coworkers seem inclined to bring you up every five minutes, it's been difficult. It's so difficult that Levi ends up staying late so that he can get his work done distraction-free, which is needed considering he took yesterday off.

Still, it's hard to concentrate. He wants to see you.

Levi narrows his eyes at the hydrangea on his desk.

Hm. Could he go in to try and pay for this? Since you gave it to him without charging Hange? Or maybe he could go see his mother again this weekend? It's been about two weeks, and while he normally goes every four or so, it doesn't hurt to see his mother more.

"Good plan," Levi mutters out loud, looking to his cactus. "...Right?" he adds awkwardly.

The cactus looks at him like it's saying yes. Levi likes it a little bit more.

He's about to get up and go when his eyes flicker to the time: it's much too late. You wouldn't still be open. "Tomorrow," he decides, looking to his cactus. "I'll see her tomorrow."

The cactus doesn't reply. Levi packs his stuff up to leave.

Bright and early Saturday morning, Levi heads to your shop, more determined than he's ever been.

He pushes open the door and immediately pauses. That's not you behind the counter.

It's a blond kid. There's a blond kid behind the counter, flipping through a book of some sort. He looks young, maybe high school age, and his blond hair is cut in some weird bob thing that makes Levi narrow his eyes.

That's not you. Why isn't that you? Who is this... child?

Eventually, the kid looks up. "Hi! Welcome! Can I help you?"

Levi realizes he's been standing in the doorway. "Is she here?"

"She? Ah! Boss!" the boy calls, turning around. "You've got someone asking for you!" He turns back to Levi. "Wait. Are you asking for her? Or no?"

A bit late if he wasn't. "Yeah."

The boy's shoulders slip slightly in relief as you come out of the back. A light yellow dress and a sunflower necklace this time, and Levi finds his facial muscles twitching already. "Ah," you say with a smile. "Mr. Ackerman. Armin, this is one of my regulars. Levi, this is Armin, my first employee."

Levi's still processing one of my regulars. "Hi."

"Hi," Armin says with a smile.

He'll hand it to you, Armin seems like a decent kid so far. Friendly, and if he's competent, then you're set. "About time you hired someone," Levi says gruffly, looking from Armin to you and then back to Armin again. "High school?"
