Tanjirou’s POV:I groggily blinked my eyes open, disoriented. The last thing I remembered was a haze—aki’s cold gaze, then nothing but darkness. Now, I was in a room I didn’t recognize. It was dimly lit by a small lamp in the corner, casting long shadows across the space. The room itself wasn’t too bad; the bed beneath me was soft, and the white sheets were pristine, but there was something off, something wrong.
As I sat up, I heard a sharp clinking sound and felt the weight around my ankle. My heart dropped. A chain. They had chained me to the bed like a prisoner. The chain allowed me enough slack to move around the room, but not much farther than that. A vanity, a dresser, and a small table stood eerily still around me. My eyes moved to a large door beneath a set of stairs, locked tight. There was no way out, was there?
Footsteps echoed above me, getting closer. Heavy, deliberate. I panicked, jumping back onto the bed and pretending to be asleep. The door creaked open, and I heard two distinct voices.
“How much did you give him?” Muichiro’s voice was unmistakable. Cold. Distant. My blood ran cold as the memories of the night before started trickling back. He drugged me. They drugged me.
“I gave him a little extra just to be safe,” the second voice replied. Aki. I recognized it.
“If he doesn’t wake up…” Muichiro’s voice trailed off, leaving the unspoken threat hanging in the air.
Aki’s phone rang, cutting through the tension like a blade. “Hello, Yuichiro?” A pause, and then, “Alright, I’ll be there soon.” She hung up quickly. “Yuichiro’s mission is going well. He needs my help. Tomorrow is when everything goes into action,” Aki said.
Tomorrow? What were they planning?! My chest tightened.
“Good. Do something useful for once,” Muichiro snapped.
Aki’s footsteps faded as she hurried upstairs. Silence filled the room again, but I could feel Muichiro’s presence lingering.
“I know you’re awake,” he said quietly, almost teasing. My heart stopped.

Zenitsu’s POV (The Next Day, 10:00 PM):
We gathered at Tanjirou’s house, all of us uneasy. Inosuke, Tsuki, Yuzu,Kori and their new recruits, Yuki and Kouta, stood in the tense circle. Yuki, the energetic student council leader, and Kouta, the overly dramatic theater kid, looked just as freaked out as the rest of us. None of us had expected to be thrown into this mess.
Yuichiro pulled up in his rusted Maserati, the screech of the tires as loud as Inosuke's shouting earlier. He wasn’t alone; Aki stepped out of the passenger seat, her face surprisingly emotionless unlike the normally joyful expression she had, though there was something darker behind her eyes.
“Does everyone know what’s going on?” Yuichiro asked, his voice unusually calm for the situation. He had this weird confidence, like the whole world could be falling apart, and he’d still flirt his way through it. Everyone nodded.
“Alright,” he continued, “Muichiro’s targeting Tsuki’s house because he thinks she’s going to expose him. He knows her brother and sister aren’t home, so he’s aiming to take her out.”
