THE AIR WAS thick with the sweet scent of cherry blossoms, a testament to the sakura trees that dominated the landscape. Despite the early morning hours, a few tourists lingered, drawn by the unique attraction─the petals, when consumed, tasted remarkably like cherries.
This was one of the tourist spots viable for everyone to see, and as long as they wouldn't harm a petal from the flowers, or the pretty pink leaves from the cherry-flavored trees─anyone was free to take photos, or whatever what they wished to do so.
The recent festival had left many exhausted, but the allure of the sakura-filled trees persisted. Among the visitors was a blond-haired man.
As he wandered through the field, he found himself captivated by the serene beauty of the surroundings.
He plucked a petal from a flower and licked it, knowing the petals wouldn't be edible unless cooked in a specific way. If someone were to eat the petals raw and naturally, they'd get indigestion, and he didn't really want that.
"Hmm.. this really does taste like cherry."
Suddenly, a gust of wind swept through the trees, sending petals dancing in the air. The trees swayed wildly, their branches creaking under the pressure. Shalnark and the other visitors looked up in surprise as the wind intensified.
Just as the blond man stood up from the flower field, a piercing scream echoed through the air.
A figure plummeted from the sky, surrounded by a whirlwind of sakura petals. With a swift movement, the man had extended his arms - catching the falling person. The girl landed in his embrace, both of them startled by the unexpected encounter.
As the people around them watched in astonishment, the strange weather cleared as quickly as it had begun. The wind subsided, and the sky was once again overcast.
The two strangers stood there, their eyes locked, and the girl's heart pounding from her fall. The blond man was silent as he closely and quickly tried to observe and analyze the girl.
"Fuck." the girl cursed.
"I'm sorry?" The man thought his ears heard it wrong, but it seemed like she spoke with a different language, and it looked like she realized it too after he said his words.
He was the first to recollect his thoughts and knit them together, and recomposed a smile to his face as he asked, "I guess it's your first time falling from the sky?"
The grey long haired girl blinked at him strangely before recomposing herself.
"So it's normal to fall from the sky?" She says, her words understandable, somehow now speaking the same language as him.
