Tagaytay Timeline - Chapter 4: Schoolyard Chaos and Three Girlfriends?!

---

It was another bright and breezy morning in Tagaytay, the scent of the ocean breeze wafting through the open windows of the classroom as Vapor settled into his seat. School wasn’t usually a place he found exciting, but with his friends—Acre, Geo, Valore, and Irish—there was always a bit of chaos to make the day more interesting.

As the bell rang, signaling the start of class, Vapor leaned back in his chair, grinning as he watched Valore and Irish bicker over something trivial again. The two had an ongoing rivalry that the entire class was used to by now. But lately, something had changed between them, and Vapor couldn’t help but notice the subtle glances they exchanged when they thought no one was watching.

Miles, seated next to Vapor, gave him a look. "Are they going at it again?"

Vapor smirked. "Oh, you know it. And they say they don’t like each other.”

The Teasing Begins

As the class progressed, Vapor found himself idly doodling in his notebook, half paying attention to the lesson while keeping one eye on the drama unfolding between Valore and Irish. They were sitting across the room, clearly annoyed with each other about something, but beneath the surface, Vapor could see the growing tension that wasn’t exactly hostile.

During lunch, Vapor, Miles, and their friends gathered in their usual spot outside under a big acacia tree. Acre was balancing a stick on his finger, Geo was fiddling with his phone, and Valore and Irish sat opposite each other, barely speaking.

“So,” Vapor began with a mischievous grin, “when are you two going to stop pretending and admit you’re into each other?”

Irish’s face turned red almost immediately. “What?! No way!”

Valore rolled her eyes, but Vapor didn’t miss the way she glanced at Irish when she thought no one was looking. “Please. Like I’d be into Irish.”

“Uh-huh, sure,” Vapor said, giving them both a look. “You two are practically inseparable.”

Miles snickered quietly beside him. “He’s got a point.”

Before either of them could protest further, a new voice entered the conversation—Skye, another girl from their class. She walked up to the group and sat down beside Irish, giving her a friendly nudge. "Hey, Irish. Got room for one more?"

Vapor raised an eyebrow as Skye casually joined in, completely unbothered by the awkward tension in the air. Skye and Irish had been friends for a while, but recently, Vapor had noticed the way Skye seemed to get closer to both Irish and Valore, sparking a strange dynamic.

“Oh no,” Vapor muttered under his breath. "This is gonna be fun."

Vapor’s Endless Teasing

The group continued to chat, but Vapor couldn’t resist stirring the pot a little more. He leaned forward, his voice dripping with playful sarcasm. "Irish, you’ve got Valore on one side and Skye on the other. You’re really collecting girlfriends, huh?”

Irish choked on her drink, eyes wide. “I—what?! No, that’s not—!”

Valore crossed her arms, trying to keep her cool but failing to hide a smirk. “Yeah, Irish. Looks like you’re starting a collection.”

Skye, always laid-back, just grinned. “What can I say? Irish is pretty great.”

Vapor burst out laughing, clearly enjoying himself far too much. “So, Irish, when’s the wedding? You’ve got three girlfriends now!”

“Three?!” Irish stammered, her face a deep shade of crimson. “I don’t have any girlfriends! Stop saying that!”

Miles shook her head, but even she couldn’t hide her amusement. “Vapor, you’re going to give her a heart attack.”

Acre, ever the instigator, leaned in with a mischievous grin. “So who’s the favorite, Irish? Valore or Skye?”

Irish glared at them all, clearly flustered, but despite her embarrassment, there was something in her expression that hinted she wasn’t entirely against the idea. Valore and Skye, on the other hand, just exchanged glances, their own expressions unreadable.

The Kindness of Vapor

As the day progressed, Vapor couldn’t help but show his softer side in between his teasing. He helped one of his classmates who had trouble with their math homework, even offering to stay after class to explain the concepts in more detail. And when one of the younger students tripped and fell in the hallway, Vapor was the first to rush over, helping them up and making sure they were okay.

Rosie always admired how kind Vapor was, even if he liked to mess around with his friends. She’d often tell him how special it was that he could balance his teasing with genuine acts of kindness.

During the last period of the day, the teacher assigned a group project, and naturally, Vapor, Miles, Acre, Geo, Valore, and Irish ended up in the same group. As they started working, Vapor took on the role of mediator, ensuring everyone contributed and that the work got done smoothly. Despite the chaos that often surrounded their friend group, Vapor always managed to bring a sense of calm and focus.

A Sweet End to the Day

After school, Vapor and Rosie met up just outside the gates, where she was waiting for him with her usual smile. “Hey, how was your day?”

Vapor sighed dramatically, still grinning. “Irish has three girlfriends now.”

Rosie raised an eyebrow. “Three? That’s impressive.”

“Valore, Skye, and—well, maybe not really, but I’m having fun teasing her about it.”

Rosie chuckled, shaking her head. “You’re terrible.”

“Yeah, but you love it,” Vapor teased back, slipping his hand into hers.

They walked together in the golden glow of the late afternoon, their fingers intertwined. As they strolled, Vapor felt the usual warmth that being with Rosie brought him, a sense of calm and peace that he didn’t find anywhere else.

They found a quiet spot at a small park overlooking the city, where they sat together, the world quiet around them. Vapor leaned his head against Rosie’s shoulder, his usual shyness taking a back seat as he let himself enjoy the simple pleasure of being close to her.

“You know,” Rosie said softly, “you’re a really good person, Vapor. You take care of your friends, and you’re always kind, even when you’re teasing them.”

Vapor blushed slightly, looking down at his shoes. “I just… want people to feel good, you know?”

Rosie smiled and kissed his cheek gently, making his face light up even more. “That’s one of the reasons I love you.”

Vapor’s heart swelled at her words, the shyness creeping back in as he wrapped an arm around her. “I love you too, Rosie.”

As the sun began to set, casting a warm, golden glow over them, they sat together in peaceful silence, the chaos of the day forgotten as they simply enjoyed each other’s presence.
