Chapter 21: "Irish's Harem"
It was another regular day at school, and Irish found herself sitting between Valore and Skye in the courtyard. To anyone watching, it probably looked like a normal group of friends hanging out, but to Irish, it felt like she was stuck in the middle of a bad romantic comedy she never signed up for.
"So... uh, what's the plan for today?" Irish asked, trying to keep things casual, even though both Valore and Skye were sitting way too close for comfort.
Skye giggled, leaning into Irish's shoulder. "I was thinking we could all go out for ice cream after school! My treat, of course." She batted her eyelashes, sending a playful wink toward Irish.
Valore scoffed, crossing her arms and leaning in from the other side. "Ice cream? How basic. I was thinking something a bit more exciting, like... laser tag. You know, something that actually gets the adrenaline going."
Irish was stuck in the middle, literally and figuratively, as her two girlfriends—if she could even call them that—began subtly trying to one-up each other. It was a strange dynamic, to say the least.
"Laser tag sounds fun!" Skye said, her tone sweet but with a hidden edge. "But don't you think Irish would rather do something... relaxing?"
Valore raised an eyebrow. "Relaxing? This is Irish we're talking about. She doesn't want to sit around doing nothing."
Irish, sensing the tension, awkwardly cleared her throat. "Uh, guys, it doesn't really matter to me. I'm fine with either, really."
Valore smirked and leaned in closer to Irish, wrapping an arm around her shoulders. "Of course you are, but we all know who you're really going to pick, right?"
Skye pouted and leaned in from the other side, resting her head on Irish's other shoulder. "Come on, Irish, you'd pick me, right? You know I'm way more fun."
Irish blinked, glancing nervously between the two girls who were now practically draped over her. "Uh, guys? Can we... not make this a competition?"
But they weren’t listening.
Valore, not to be outdone, quickly grabbed Irish's hand and held it up triumphantly. "See? She's already picked me!"
Skye gasped dramatically and grabbed Irish's other hand. "Oh no, you don’t! Irish and I have plans. She just didn't tell you yet!"
Irish groaned inwardly, feeling like she was trapped in the most absurd situation possible. "This is ridiculous," she muttered.
The two girls kept up their playful bickering, each trying to claim Irish as their own, and Irish sat there helplessly, wishing for the ground to swallow her whole.
But things only got worse.
Suddenly, Valore leaned in even closer, her lips dangerously close to Irish's ear. "You know, Irish, I think you're really... cute when you're all flustered like this."
Irish's face flushed a bright red, and she nearly jumped out of her seat. "Uh, what?"
Not to be outdone, Skye leaned in from the other side and whispered, "Yeah, you're adorable, Irish. You always know how to make me laugh."
At this point, Irish was completely trapped between two overly affectionate girlfriends who seemed determined to turn the situation into the weirdest love triangle ever.
"I... I need to go," Irish stammered, trying to stand up, but both Valore and Skye held her down, giggling as they continued to tease her.
"Oh, come on, Irish," Valore said with a smirk. "Don't act like you don't like the attention."
"Yeah," Skye added, "You love this."
Irish's face was burning at this point, and she had no idea how to escape. This was, without a doubt, the most embarrassing moment of her life.
The chapter ended with Irish awkwardly stuck between Valore and Skye, trying to maintain her sanity while the two girls flirted with her nonstop. It was supposed to be romantic, but it ended up being nothing short of a comedy of errors.
This was easily the worst chapter yet, but at least it was over. For now.
End of Chapter 21.
