Victor was sitting in the living room drinking tea when Christina entered the room. He looked at his daughter and smiled.

– I have good news for you, – he said, smiling. – Alexander will come for the holidays.

Christina could not contain her joy. Alexander, her older brother, was not only an example for her, but also a friend who always supported her. His arrival was a real gift.

– Is it true? When will he arrive? – she asked, feeling her heart fill with happiness.

– Tomorrow morning, – Victor answered. – He took a leave of absence from work and decided to spend the holidays with us.

Elizabeth, who had previously been silently observing the conversation, nodded slightly.

– It’s good that he decided to come, – she said.  – I hope this will be useful for him.

Christina knew that her mother did not show much warmth towards Alexander, especially after he moved to London to work. But for Christina it was a long-awaited moment of family reunion.

The next day, Christina woke up early, her heart beating with anticipation. She helped her father prepare breakfast and constantly looked at her watch.

Finally, they heard the sound of a car approaching. Christina ran out onto the porch and saw Alexander getting out of the taxi. He looked a little tired, but happy.

– Alexander! – she exclaimed, throwing herself on his neck. – How glad I am to see you!

– Hi, Christina, – he said, hugging her back. – I missed you too.

They entered the house together, and Victor greeted his son with a wide smile.

– Welcome home, son, – he said, patting Alexander on the back. – We're so glad you came.

– I’m glad to be here too, – Alexander replied, nodding. – This place will always be home to me.

Elizabeth appeared at the door of the living room; her face was still as stern, but in her eyes one could notice a slight softness.

– Hello, mom, – Alexander said, approaching her. – I hope you don’t mind that I came for the holidays.

– Hello, Alexander, – she replied, nodding. – Of course not. You will benefit from spending time with your family.

Later, after dinner, Christina and Alexander sat in her room, talking about everything that had happened recently. Alexander talked about his work and life in London, and Christina shared her experiences and joys at Hogwarts.

– I still can’t believe you’re in Gryffindor, – Alexander said, smiling. – I'm proud of you, little sister. It is not easy to be the first in our family to enter this house.

– Thank you, Alexander, – Christina replied, feeling the warmth of his words. – It was difficult, but I’m trying.

– And you’re doing great, – he said. – The main thing is to be yourself and don’t let anyone make you doubt your abilities.

This conversation with her brother filled Christina with confidence and joy. She knew that new challenges awaited her, but with the support of Alexander and her father, she was ready for them. And now she was simply enjoying the fact that her family was together again, at least for the holidays.

It was especially lively in Kovalenko’s house. Victor and Elizabeth were finishing the final preparations for the New Year's holiday, and Christina and Alexander were decorating the living room. Twinkling lights, garlands and colorful balls created an atmosphere of magic and joy.
