Third was sure there was no cure for his pain. The pricing aching spread through his chest, intruding in every cell in his body. The tears streamed down his pale face, and he didn't even try to stop them.

"Third." Two's worried voice resounded through the room, and like many other times, Third was glad the door separated them.

"Are you okay? Khai said you are not feeling well." The genuine concern from Two almost surprised him. But this was Two, the guy who once knew him the best aside from Khai. Third, tried to steady his breath to answer him, but it was more difficult than he thought.

"I- I will be alright. I am just still tired. Do you need anything, Two?" He managed to stutter. There was a short pause before Two spoke again.

"No... I just wanted to make sure you are alright." An awkward silence filled the air. Third, finally calmed enough to stop tears from coming out.

"That's nice of you. Thank you." He rose to his feet, looking intensely at the door. A small part of his brain wanted to open and let Two inside, but the fear of facing his friend after the encounter with Khai prevented him from doing so.

"There's a staff meeting in an hour. Will you be there, Third?" Two asked unsurely. Third took a deep breath before answering.

"I am a new director and scriptwriter. It would be rude not to show up."

"You are right. See you later then." Two replayed. Third closed his eyes, gathering the courage to talk. Two seemed like the only one who felt some remorse and he wanted to give him a chance to redeem himself.

"W- We can meet and talk after the work. If you want to, that is." Third, finally said.

"I would love that." Two's voice seemed more lively.

"I have two conditions, though." Third added, opening his eyes.

"And that is?"

"Don't tell Khai and Bone about it. And you are not allowed to reveal anything we will discuss to them or anyone else.

Two was quiet for a while before he answered.

"I promise, Third." A big weight fell from Third's shoulder and a light smile appeared on his face.

"Okay. See you later." He dismissed his former friend.

"See you."

Third, listened to receding footsteps with a light heart. Maybe there was a chance to save at least one friendship because he doubted Khai would want anything to do with him after today's scene.
