Chapter 33

Today's the day...

Ali and Atsushi both exchanged a knowing look as they walked Kyouka to the detective agency, neither of them being able to contain their excitement.

Kyouka looked at the two of them in confusion, "What are you two so giddy about? Is it the honeymoon phase?" She asked, causing the two of them to quickly blush.

"Y-You don't have to worry about me and Ali, alright?" Atsushi told Kyouka, looking down as that he could keep eye contact with her.

Kyouka stayed silent, before sighing. "Alright... If it isn't the honeymoon phase, then what is it?" She asked, tilting her head.

Ali and Atsushi both looked at each other with a smile, before looking back at her. "You'll see!"

When the 3 finally arrived to the agency, Atsushi motioned at Kyouka to open the door. She stayed still from confusion for a moment, before moving the knob and being greeted with a face full of confetti.

"Congratulations on joining the agency!" The agency greeted her, the confetti falling the ground.

Kyouka stayed still for a moment, she was finally here. After years of being held captive in the Port Mafia, being forced to kill others and be a flower of the night... She was finally here.

She was with her family, she was with people who didn't care about her ability or about how well she could kill someone. She was finally in the light.

Behind her, Atsushi and Ali were freaking out, wondering if Kyouka didn't like the surprise. The two let out a exhale as Kyouka finally lifted her head up from the floor smiling at the agency. "Thank you!" She told them, causing half the members to recoil from the cuteness.

Ali glared at Yosano as she carefully watched her for any signs of misconduct. "Yosano... We had an adults only celebration 2 days ago! You had your fill of alcohol there!" She hissed, taking away the cup of wine from Yosano's hand.

Yosano whined, before pouring out her alcohol, "Didn't know that we hired another Kunikida..." She mumbled, before looking up at the bandana that Ali had on her head. "What's that?" She asked.

"A sign that I'm a member of the agency child protection squad." She told Yosano, looking under the desk for any more alcohol. "Where'd you get 10 bottles from?!"

Yosano shrugged, "Who else is in the squad?" She asked, ignoring the question that Ali had from earlier.

"Well... I bribed Dazai with some crab, Kunikida's in it too, Fukuzawa, Atsushi... Oh, and I promised to buy Ranpo snacks for the weekend so..." She said, "All that's left is Haruno, Naomi, Tanizaki and... You..." She mumbled with a smirk.

"Wait-" Yosano said, only to be grabbed by Ali and dragged into the girls bathroom with her.

Kyouka and Atsushi both chuckled at her antics, "She's probably gonna force feed her hundreds of pictures of you..." Atsushi told her, ignoring the screaming coming from the room, along with the occasional, "Kyouka's the cutest! And so is Kenji!"

After a couple of minutes, Ali finally left the room, happily dragging Yosano behind her. "So... Have you converted to the agency child protection squad?" She asked, a mischievous smile on her face "If so, please sign this contract!"

 Yosano groaned as she signed the contract, "Must protect... Child..." She mumbled, before dazedly walking walking over to her table and throwing her her wine bottles.
