Dear future me,
Okay. I'm going to attempt not to smash my pencil as I write this, but I am not having it today.
This morning, I was woken up extra early (9:32, I checked) because of a stupidly loud noise in the living room. I went to go see what it was and there were a bunch of people standing in the hallway. This wouldn't have been a big deal if I wasn't strait out of bed, hair a mess, glasses crooked, and power ranger pajamas on full display, but of coarse they were. None the less, I stood there and waited for Omma to say something, and she did.
She PULLED ME from the stair case and MADE ME SAY HELLO. It was literally the most embarrassing moment of my entire thirteen year old life! I mean, she could have at least let me brush my teeth!! Anyway, I said hi and then Omma told me that they were her friends that she told me about (the women was called Nia and the man was called Daisuke, two names that I have never heard). Then, after that terrible interaction I was finally released from Omma's death grip and ran upstairs to go put on clothes.
Then, when Omma came back upstairs, she was with A BOY. I was barely done fixing my hair when he came rolling in with a SUITCASE. Apparently he was supposed to be staying in MY ROOM and I had to help him unpack. WHAT. I was supposed to share a room with some stranger for who knows how long just so our parent could go on playdates together or something?
Well, despite how freaking stupid it was I helped him anyway. I told him my name was Seungmin and he said his name was Minho (a name I have heard before, also the name of that guy from SHINee).
Honestly though, the minute he started talking the only thing I could hear was his funky accent. he sounded like he had a weird lisp that only comes out on certain syllables. I was really weirded out but I didn't want to be rude so I didn't say anything. But then, while we were unpacking I noticed that a bunch of his clothes were all pink and fuzzy, which was also weird, but again I didn't say anything. But then, he pulled out a pair of ballay- baley- hold on. Ballet slippers!!!
By this point I was really confused so I asked him why he had them, and he said he did ballet. HE did ballet. . . A BOY. I think he noticed how confused I was and he told me that in Japan, a bunch of boys do ballet (oh yeah apparently they're from Japan, sorry). I was still a little lost though so I asked him why boys do ballet, because, you know. Its a girl thing. I think this made him a little mad though because he got kind of red and started ranting about how dance isn't a boy or girl thing and whatever else he said (it didn't make much sense so I stoped listening).
By the time we were done with his stuff, Oppa came to get us for breakfast. I'm not gonna give all the details but I will give you some quick notes of a few things I noticed during breakfast.
1. Mr Lee and Mrs Lee are apparently besties with my parents (which is a little annoying)
2. Minho has two siblings, one is a boy younger than him (called shota), and the other is a girl older than him (called Hirai)
3. Minho is the only one who has a name I know (I think the rest are Japanese)
4. Mrs Lee and Shota have a lot darker skin than Minho or Hirai (which a little confusing seeing as they're all related)
5. Mrs Lee also speaks perfect Korean and I don't think she's asian (also a bit confusing)
6. Mr Lee makes really good pancakes.
After breakfast, everything was equally as annoying as the morning, but I'm tired and my hand is cramping so I'll just tell you later if I really have to.
Sorry for all the capital's,
- Kim Seungmin
