"I don't have legs as long as you, slow down!"

Ivy laughed as she jogged up to catch up with Taylor, who was practically skipping along the trail with endless energy. She had given in to the blonde woman's persistent begging, and now she found herself dragging her legs up the mountain, wondering how Taylor could still be so full of life.

The sun was shining, casting a golden glow over the trees, and despite her exhaustion, Ivy couldn't help but smile at her girlfriend's enthusiasm. Every few steps, Taylor would stop to admire a wildflower or point out a bird, taking pictures of everything that caught her eye.

Yesterday's evening was spent cooking dinner, just enjoying each other's company. Taylor intently watched as Ivy moved around the kitchen, tasting everything that she made. They ate outside, the sky was painted in various shades of orange as the sun set. Wrapped in blankets, they cuddled up together, sipping from their wine glasses and having conversations till they got too cold to sit outside.

She finally caught up to Taylor, who was sitting on a sturdy branch, waiting for her with a playful grin, as she swung her legs back and forth.

"Finally! I thought you got lost." Taylor teased.

Ivy rolled her eyes, breathless but smiling. "I didn't get lost; I just took my time. Not everyone can walk that fast."

Taylor hopped down from the branch, walking closer to her. "Come here, grumpy," she said, leaning in to kiss Ivy's lips softly.

Ivy felt her heart flutter at the gentle kiss. "What's got you all excited?" she asked, a teasing smile playing on her lips.

"I saw a beautiful butterfly! I have to show you," Taylor exclaimed, her eyes lighting up with enthusiasm. She quickly grabbed her phone and began scrolling through her pictures.

"Here it is!" Taylor said, turning the phone towards Ivy. The image showed a butterfly perched on a vibrant wildflower, its wings a stunning blend of blues and oranges.

"It's beautiful, Blue," Ivy smiled, taking in her girlfriend's excitement. "Show me more."

Taylor was engrossed in her phone, flipping through the photos she'd just taken, a look of pure concentration on her face as she looked for more pictures to show her. Ivy stood beside her, she couldn't help but admire the way the sunlight framed the taller woman's face.

"You're so beautiful," Ivy said softly, leaning against Taylor.

Taylor grinned without looking up, playfully bumping her hip against Ivy's. "This won't make this hike any shorter."

"Doesn't hurt to try," Ivy chuckled, wrapping an arm around Taylor's waist.

They stood in silence for a moment, soaking in the view of the mountains. It was moments like these that made Ivy grateful she had come, even if she had protested at first.
