Annie trained and helped the boys investigate the fire all week. Obviously, one week isn't enough for her to become a hunter, so she figured she'd just help with the research and investigations for now.

"I still don't know why you want to go with us."

Sam said as he packed his clothes inside his backpack. Annie had just gotten back from her dorm with her suitcase and belongings.

"You know you won't have a place to live? You'll have to bounce from motel to motel, some are dirty and disgusting."

"Sam..." she rolled her eyes slightly.

"Come on... Why do you want to change your perfectly safe dorm... For this?"

"Because it's not for me. It never was. Listen, I don't have anyone, okay? You and Jess were my first friends in a long time, and it was the only thing that kept me sane. I don't want to stay in college, I want to go with you guys...", she sighed heavily while her big eyes stared at him.

Sam huffed giving up, after spending the whole week trying to convince her not to go.

They put their bags in the car and left.

Annie was sleeping in the backseat of the Impala, but she woke up when Sam jerked awake. When she saw that he was okay, she closed her eyes again.

There was music playing softly while Dean and Sam talked, Annie was stuck between listening to the conversation or going back to sleep. Annie was devastated by how Sam kept avoiding his feelings, even though Dean insisted on asking if everything was okay, "All right, where are we?"

"We are just outside of Grand Junction", Dean answered.

Sam folded the map he was holding, feeling a little anxious.

"You know what...", Annie opened her eyes and looked at Sam's head. "Maybe we shouldn't have left Stanford so soon."

"Sam, we dug around there for a week. We came up with nothing. If you wanna find the thing that killed Jessica..."

"We gotta find Dad first."

They talked, agreeing in order to find the monster that killed Jess, they had to find John Winchester first. Annie had heard some stories; but there was definitely a lot more to it.

She stretched and leaned over to the front seat. Sam opened the map again and studied it, "It's weird man... These coordinates he left us."

"Where are we going?" Annie asked while she stretched behind them.

"Mhm... This Blackwater Ridge."

"What about it?", Dean looked at Sam and the map.

"There's nothing there. It's just woods," Sam put the map down again and sighed. "Why is he sending us to the middle of nowhere?"

When Dean was near the Ranger Station, both asked Annie to stay in the car. She was reluctant but stayed. She sang a few songs and just waited.
