Annie decided she was never gonna forgive Sam for holding a tarantula in his hands. He thought it was dramatic.

"The whole case was scary, we were almost eaten alive by bees and that's what you're worried about?" He looked back at her on the backseat, she crossed her arms.

"Yes, the bees were scary but they don't have eight legs."

Dean raised his eyebrows almost agreeing with the statement until Sam talked again.

"It was a hundred thousand bees. Or more!"

"Okay lawyer, but the image of that giant spider crawling around your hand will forever be engraved in my mind."

"But the sound of those bees, though..." Dean said, and Sam raised his hand in agreement.

"Exactly, thank you Dean!"

Annie ignored, and tried hard not to smile at them. "Don't ever touch me again with those hands."

"You're being ridiculous!"

Things started to get a little darker when Sam's nightmares continued to creep in. And then; turned into reality. Annie was worried sick, but she tried her best to not show it too much, she knew it was not what he needed. Dean was worried enough for both of them.

After leaving Lawrence, Sam was already feeling pretty devastated. Then, the asylum made it worse. The discourse between Sam and Dean got everything messed up, and Annie still felt like she didn't have a place to meddle in. So she minded her own business.

But when Sam suddenly decided to continue to look for his father by himself, she was torn apart. He got really mad when John called and asked them to stop looking.

She imagined the anger would come out sooner or later, but she never thought he would actually leave.

When she saw him taking things out of the truck, she jumped out of the car and watched the fight from outside, standing next to Dean.

"That's what you really think?"

"Yes, it is."

"Well, then this selfish bastard is going to California."

He put on his backpack and started to walk away. Annie stepped further to walk too, but Dean put his arm in front of her torso.

"Come on, you're not serious!"

"I am serious."

"It's the middle of the night! Hey, I'm taking off, I will leave your ass, you hear me?"

"What?", Annie asked, her eyes widely staring at Dean.

Sam stopped walking and turned around, looking at both of them. "That's what I want you to do."

They stared at each other. When Sam looked down at Annie, she was staring back at him with pleading eyes.

"Don't do this..." She started, but Dean grabbed her shoulder and turned her around.

"Goodbye, Sam."

Dean closed the truck, told Annie to get in the passenger seat, walked around the car and got in. Then he drove away, while Annie looked back and stared at Sam until she couldn't see him anymore.

When Sam found Dean trapped into a tree he immediately started to help him out.

"Where's Annie?", he asked.

"Passed out, they hit her in the head, over there."

Sam looked at her, she was near another girl, and he felt guilty for leaving.

At the end, as they watched Emily - the other girl - leave on the bus, Annie was already awake even though she was dizzy and confused, and Sam was holding her close.

"Think she's gonna be alright?", He asked as the bus drove away.

"I hope so." Dean answered.

"And the rest of the townspeople, they'll just get away with it?"

"Well, what'll happen to the town will have to be punishment enough."

They started walking to the car and Annie followed their steps, keeping her arm around Sam's neck.

"So, can I drop you off somewhere?" When Dean asked, Annie looked at Sam's face the same way as earlier, with pleading eyes.

"No", Sam looked at Annie and smiled softly, "I think you're stuck with me."

They stopped by the car and Sam opened the door of the backseat, he sat Annie down carefully.

"What made you change your mind?"

"I didn't. I still wanna find Dad. And you're still a pain in the ass. But, Jess and Mom—they're both gone. Dad is God knows where. You and me. And Annie. We're all that's left. So, if we're gonna see this through, we're gonna do it together."

"Hold me, Sam. That was beautiful."

He put his hand on Sam's shoulder, he hit his hand away and laughed. Annie laughed too and then she frowned, feeling a little pain in her head.

"You should be kissing my ass, you were dead meat, dude."

"Yeah, right. Annie and I had a plan, I'd have gotten out."

"Right."

Sam closed the door for Annie and then both got in the car. When Dean started to drive, he spoke again. "No, seriously. You should've seen Annie today, she was great!"

"I bet she was." Sam said sweetly as he looked back and stared at Annie, who was looking right at him.

She couldn't help but smile shyly and look away.
