Dean almost died. Annie researched it endlessly looking for something that would help him, even though she wasn't really used to the supernatural. Sam was convinced they could find something.

And he was right at the end when he found a faith healer.

It wasn't fair, but it helped. Until they found out it was all a supernatural scam.

Annie thought this life couldn't get scarier, and then she, as always, was proven wrong.

It all worked out for them.

But she was proven wrong again when they had to face a ghost truck. That was one of the scariest things she's ever seen in her life.

Annie also got the chance to meet Dean's ex girlfriend Cassie. Apparently he told her all about the supernatural and she freaked out. Annie could understand it in a deep level. But she couldn't imagined ever leaving.

By the end of the hunt, Dean was staring at the window while Sam was driving. Annie was quietly listening to music on her big white headphones. When she realized they started to talk, she lowered the volume of her music and listened to the conversation.

"You meet someone like her, doesn't it make you wonder if it's worth it? Putting everything else on hold, doing what we do?"

Dean looked at Sam for a while, then he smiled and put his sunglasses on. "Why don't you wake me up when it's my turn to drive?"

Dean slouched down on the seat sighting. Sam shook his head and looked back at the road. Annie finally spoke: "I can drive!"

"No!"
"No."

She huffed and went back to listen to her music.

The nightmares got worse for Sam and Annie got more worried. Everything was looking bad as they found out there's other people like Sam out there, with powers.

It seemed to take a toll on Sam and the girl wasn't enjoying seeing him that way. Dean also looked worried sick, which made Annie feel frustrated cause there was nothing she could do to help.

Then, Sam went missing.

"What do you mean you're gonna go looking for him by yourself?" Annie crossed her arms looking at Dean as he got ready.

"He disappeared out of nowhere, and I can't look for him and worry about you at the same time."

"You don't have to worry about me, i'll help..."

"Annie... I will find him and bring him back, you stay here and stay close to your phone in case I need you." With no more argument, Dean got out and slammed the door shut.

Annie worried practically all night, biting all of her nails waiting for a call. She texted Dean a few times too and there was no response. She was worried maybe they were somewhere with no signal or somewhere they couldn't make any noise, so she decided not to call.

When she was about to give in and go out to look for them, the door opened and both of them got in. She took a deep breath and stared at them.

"What didn't you call? Are you okay? What the hell happened? Sam, are you hurt?"

Sam chuckled and put a hand on her shoulder. He looked exhausted, and sweaty. "It's fine. We're fine. Is a long story..."

This time, the kidnappers weren't monsters. They were people. Annie was getting more scared of the world as the days went by.

Later that night, Annie couldn't sleep so she went outside to catch some air. She sat down at the stairs in front of the room and looked around at the parking lot. Soon, she felt Sam sitting right next to her.

"Can't sleep?"

She shook her head and looked down at her hands. Sam nodded. They stayed in silence for a minute, until she finally spoke. "You scared me today."

"I know..."

She sighed, shaking her head again. "No, you don't know. I thought both of you were dead or something. I didn't know what to do, Sam..."

"It's okay..."

"No, is not okay." She looked at him, her eyes tearing up. He felt a pang in his heart which he swallowed.

"Annie, these things are gonna keep happening. Is how this life goes... Is unpredictable. We're gonna get hurt sometimes. Or almost died several times."

"Is not fair."

"I never said it was..."

He put one hand on her back, and without any warnings, she leaned in and hugged him, resting her face on his shoulder. He just let her, slowly hugging her back.

"I'm tired of feeling like i'm not doing enough..."

Sam closed his eyes and touched his chin on her temple, his breathing heavy near her ear. "Maybe you're right, maybe I shouldn't stay."

"No...", he stopped her, squeezing her with his arms, "We want you to stay. Okay? You're more helpful than you think."

She sighed and just stayed in his arms, moving her head a little. He let her, for as long as she needed it.

Something about having her face buried on his neck made him feel extremely comfortable.
