As the days passed, Annie found out that being a hunter was scarier than she imagined. And she was totally sure she was traumatized by bloody mary. She wondered why would kids do such a thing, than she remembered not everyone knows how real the supernatural world is.

The murder case was difficult, Annie decided it would be better if she stayed in the motel room and helped from afar with the research, she did not want to see Rebecca. She didn't know Rebecca very well, but she'd see her around sometimes on campus and on parties, and Rebecca was well aware of who she was. It would be weird if she found out she took off on a road trip with Sam, being Jess's friend and all.

Sam thought it was silly but eventually he agreed, anything to keep Annie inside a room safe and secured.

Annie was getting tired of that.

"I feel like i'm not really helping... Like... I'm just an item you guys are traveling with." She complained to Dean at the end of the day while Sam was taking a shower.

"Relax, is not like that... You're just new, you have to get more training to go out there..."

"How am I gonna get training if I don't go out there?"

Dean looked up at her, Annie was sitting on the bed with her arms crossed and that look on her face that by then Dean knew very well it meant: she's gonna get what she wants.

It took him a few seconds staring at her for him to nod. "Alright, next case, you're going out with us. But you have to listen and don't do anything stupid!"

Annie smiled and put her hands up defeated. "Yes sir."

Sam thought it was a terrible idea.

Onto the next case, they stopped at the fraternity where Rich, the kid who died, used to live. Sam kept tapping on his thigh until Dean slapped him in the shoulder.

"Ouch... What was that for?"

"Relax, we're just gonna investigate, she'll be fine."

Annie knocked on Dean's window and leaned down to look at them. "Are you guys coming out or what...?"

Sam huffed and rolled his eyes on his way out of the car.

Annie thought it would be a good idea to separate while they investigated the kids old dorm. Sam reluctantly said yes. Then they met each other outside again.

"I found nothing. You?", Annie asked looking up at Sam.

"Rich was with a girl named Lori the night he died."

"She's a reverend's daughter." Dean added, with a smirk on his face.

"We should go try to find her? Which church do they go to?"

Finding the church was easy. Finding Lori was easier, she was a petite blonde girl. Annie thought she was cute. Also felt like she didn't deserve to go through all of this.

"My name is Sam. This is my brother, Dean, and my sister Annie."

Annie raised her eyebrows and then smiled at Lori while Dean just waved. "We just transferred here to the university."

That was a difficult hunt and full of plot twists but at the end they managed. Annie didn't got hurt, even though she was caught up in the middle of the action.

She couldn't help but feel a little twisted feeling in her chest about seeing Sam kissing Lori. And then, while she was in the car with Dean, watching Sam say goodbye to her brought another aching feeling that she couldn't even explain. Dean was watching both through the mirrors.

When Sam got in the car, he settled and Annie looked down.

"We could stay." Dean said, making Annie look up again.

Sam shook his head, Dean drove away. Annie spent the whole trip thinking about that kiss.

Once they got to a motel to get some rest, Annie asked for a room for herself, which both Sam and Dean thought it was weird. Later, Sam knocked on her door with some food.

"Thanks!"

"Sure..."

He placed the sandwich package on the table and both of them sat down.

"Is everything okay?" Sam asked quietly while watching her take a bite of her sandwich.

"Yea... why?"

"You asked for a room for yourself..."

Annie leaned back on her chair and looked down for a few seconds.

"Is no big deal, I just thought we needed some alone time. You know... You and your brother... Me..." Sam squinted his eyebrows not understanding what she meant, and she laughed.

"I just feel like this is something you guys are used to do together and i'm in the way. I practically invited myself."

Sam sighed and rubbed his hand on his neck. He didn't want to disagree or agree, he didn't even want to be doing this in the first place. But he felt like he had to. "You know... Even though I worry, I do like having you around." He finally admitted, looking her with kind eyes.

"Thank you, Sam."

"And you don't have to get a separate room if you don't want to. We should stick together."

Annie smiled while nodding and took another bite of her sandwich. Sam just watched her fondly.
