"Time runs short."

"You must awaken."

"You must awaken NOW!"

The voice in Valor's head caused his eyes to shoot open and gasp before finding himself trapped in a pod with restraints on his wrists along with Robin, Aqualad and Kid Flash. He looked in front of him and saw the clone was staring at them with no expression. And Kid Flash, like always, was the first one to ruin the mood.

"What? What-what do you want?" K.F. questioned angrily but the clone didn't answer him and only locked his eyes on him. "Quit staring. You're creeping me out." He added angrily.

"Uh, K.F., how about we not tick off the guy who can fry us with a look?" Robin interjected, shutting Kid Flash up.

"We only sought to help you." Aqualad said to the clone formally.

"Yeah. We free you, and you turn on us. How's that for grat—"

"Kid, shut the fuck up for a while." Valor interrupted him. "Let Aqualad finish." He added before glancing at Aqualad and giving him a nod.

"I believe our new friend was not in full control of his actions." Aqualad reasoned.

"Wha-what if I... What if I wasn't?" The clone asked.

"He can talk?" Kid asked in shock, causing the clone to clench his hand into a fist.

"Yes, he can." He responded, causing Valor, Robin and Aqualad to glance at Kid Flash.

"Not like I said, it." He defended himself nonchalantly.

"The Genomorphs taught you telepathically." Aqualad realized as he spoke to the clone.

"They taught me much." The clone stated. "I can read, write. I-I know the names of things." He continued.

"But have you seen them?" Robin asked.

"Have they let you see the sky? Or the sun?" Valor added.

"Images are implanted in my mind, but no. I have not seen them." The clone answered before looking down.

"Do you know what you are, who you are?" Aqualad questioned, causing the clone to straighten up.

"I am the Superboy, a Genomorph, a clone made from the DNA of the Superman created to replace him should he perish.. to destroy him should he turn from the light." Superboy answered without any delay, causing Kid Flash and Robin to glance at each other and only Aqualad and Valor continued to look at the boy of steel.

"To be like Superman is a worthy aspiration. But like Superman you deserve a life of your own, beyond that solar suit, beyond your pod, beyond Cadmus." Aqualad replied, trying to get the clone to see the logical solution.

"I live because of Cadmus! It is my home!" Superboy answered angrily, raising his voice slightly.

"Your home is a test tube. We can show you the sun." Valor offered.
