Chapter 4: Drop-Zone

CARRIBEAN SEA
June 22, 20:08 ECT

The Team was in the Bio-ship, going on a covert mission that was assigned by Batman about the latest shipping of a drug called Venom. Everyone was sitting patiently in their seats, waiting for Miss Martian's signal for the drop zone to be able to begin the covert mission.

"We're approaching Santa Prisca." Miss Martian declared as she continued to pilot the Bio-ship towards Santa Prisca.

Valor was rewinding what the Dark Knight had said during the mission briefing and trying to understand it further to prevent any common mistakes and a lecture from him.

---FLASHBACK---

"Isla Santa Prisca. This island nation is the primary source of a dangerous and illegal neo-steroid, a strength enhancing drug sold under the street name 'Venom'." Batman began explaining as he reviewed the information on the holographic screen in front of him.

After weeks of being trapped in the cave and having no missions, except the Mr. Twister fiasco which does not count as it technically wasn't assigned by Batman himself. The Team was finally getting their first mission assigned by the Dark Knight at last. Sure, it may be covert but a mission is still a mission. Not only that, they get to bust an importation of the drug if they are lucky enough.

The screen shifted to the inside pictures of the factory that had scanned earlier, prior to Batman's request, and the data of the factory's operating percentage. "Infrared heat signatures indicate their factory is still operating at full capacity but all shipments of venom have been inexplicably cut off. That's where this team comes in." Batman finished explaining. "This is a covert recon mission only. Observe and report." He reminded the young heroes. "If the Justice League needs to intervene, it will." He stated.

The screen shifted towards the map of Santa Prisca before two red dots appeared on the screen, indicating the drop zones. "The plan requires two drop zones." Batman stated.

"So who's in charge?" Dick questioned his mentor, wondering who would lead the Team in this mission.

The raven haired boy's question made the Dark Knight and the red android turn around to face the young heroes. They both exchanged silent glances with each other before glancing back at the raven haired boy's gaze.

"Work that out between you." Batman answered, making the boy nod his head in answer and smirking slightly.

---END OF FLASHBACK---

"Drop-zone A in 30." Miss Martian announced, making the brunet snap out of his memory.

The seatbelts that were holding Aqualad were released, letting him stand up and preparing to drop out of the Bio-ship. He pressed the emblem that was on his waist, causing his red and black suit to dark blue and black.

"Ready." The Atlantean stated determinedly, facing towards the Martian.

"Putting Bio-ship in camouflage mode." Miss Martian declared, camouflaging the Bio-ship to make their arrival.

Valor admitted that the best part about the Bio-ship, was that it can mask their arrival at any place, making them harder to be detected. Soon after, a hatch formed underneath Aqualad, making him dive into the ocean. The rest was waiting for his signal to be able to move into Santa Prisca fully undetected. Sure, Bio-ship's camouflage mode makes them harder to detect but they aren't fully undetected. Technologies like infrared were still able to detect heat signatures even for people that can go invisible. It was better to be safer than sorry.
