Ben had missed out on Aqualad, Kid Flash and Robin asking Speedy to join the covert squad because Sentinel needed him for the night to bust a weapon trafficking that night by Intergang near California. Luckily, Aqualad had filled him in on the details of what happened last night after he reached the cave earlier.
"RECOGNIZED: ROBIN, B-0-1, KID FLASH, B-0-3." The computer announced as the Zeta-Tube powered up and teleported the two young heroes here.
The two quickly ran towards where the group was at the holographic screen. On screen, it showed Red Tornado's location and he was approaching the cave in a few minutes.
"Did you ask him?"
"What did he say?" Both Dick and Wally asked together.
"Well, he's arriving now." Ben answered, facing his best friends.
"Then what are we waiting for?" Wally questioned before running towards the entrance of the cave where Red Tornado will land.
Dick followed next along with Kaldur and Ben. Superboy followed slowly behind along with Miss Martian. Mount Justice was breathtaking, it had a beach, plenty of space for outdoor activities and pretty much anything. Ben might even think of permanently moving into the cave in the future. The trapdoor slowly opened and made into a slope as the Team managed to intercept Red Tornado outside first. Red Tornado began to hover down in front of the group before the tornado under his lower body disappeared as he landed.
"Red Tornado!" Wally exclaimed.
"Greetings. Is there a reason you intercept me outside the cave?" Tornado questioned in his monotone voice.
"We hope you had a mission for us." Kaldur answered.
"Mission assignments are the Batman's responsibility." Tornado stated.
"But it's been over a week, and nothing—"
Tornado put his hand up to stop Dick from protesting. "You'll be tested soon enough." He interrupted before putting his hand back down. "For the time being, simply enjoy each other's company." He added.
"This team is not a social club." Kaldur retorted.
"No, but I am told social interaction is an important team-building exercise." Red Tornado replied. "Perhaps you can keep busy by familiarizing yourself with the cave." He added before walking towards the cave entrance.
"You sound just like my English teacher." Ben stated, causing Wally to nod.
"Agreed." He stated before lightly jabbing Dick's shoulder. "'Keep busy'." He repeated.
"Does he think we're falling for this?" Dick questioned angrily.
"Oh, I'll find out." Miss Martian answered before narrowing her eyes and trying to read Red Tornado's mind.
A few moments passed, there was silence as Miss Martian tried to read Red Tornado's mind. The silence was broken by the A.I. in the cave as it announced Red Tornado's arrival.
"RECOGNIZED: RED TORNADO, 1-7."
"Well?" Ben asked the Martian.
