Shortly before the wedding, I was so nervous that I felt terrible. I had already thrown up three times since getting up and just hoped that wouldn't happen to me during the ceremony. Yuchan was not back and there was no news from Seonghwa, San and Mingi, even though I had sent them yesterday. I was worried about my friends and whether I was really making the right decision.
My mother, who took on the role of a high priestess, would marry us in our garden. Everything there was beautifully decorated and Jongho had sprouted flowers everywhere with his strength. I was touched by his gesture, but when I hugged him, he just grimaced and murmured "it's okay."
Now I was standing there, looking beautiful in my dress, with the subtle make-up and the updo, waiting for my father to come and get me to lead me to the altar. One last time, I picked up the phone and called Seonghwa, who answered this time.
"Where are you?" I asked and heard him sigh.
"The house is empty, neither Yuchan nor his family are here... I don't understand... wait..." I heard Mingi shouting in the background.
"We found him, but he's unconscious... apparently he was put to sleep by magic, Mingi is trying to wake him up," he quickly informed me and I breathed a sigh of relief.
"Come here, Hongjoong should heal him so that he can wake up faster and tell us what happened... I have to go now..." I said, hanging up, because my father was standing in the doorway holding out his arm.
"Let's go," he encouraged me, and smiling, I walked out into the garden at his side. The others would arrive soon, they were fine, that was important for me to know, so that I could marry with all my heart, without worrying all the time. Jungkook was already standing under the white wedding arch and when our gazes met, I saw the tears in his eyes. My father led me to him and gave him my hand.
"Take good care of her," he said and Jungkook nodded.
"I've always taken care of her... that won't change," he confirmed before my mother began with the ceremony. All the time, Kookie's eyes held me captive, yet I was overcome again by this nausea and felt dizzy. If Jungkook hadn't held my hands, I would have fainted. But his warmth gave me strength and before I knew it, we were married. We kissed and cut the cake, received congratulations and blessings from the others, all the festivities, but then the others arrived with Yuchan, took him to his room where Hongjoong healed him. Jungkook took me by the hand and we hurried to him, leaving the guests to continue celebrating alone.
"Channie...", I sat down on his bed, saw him open his eyes and had to hold back not to hug him.
"You got married?" he asked confused.
"Yes, you said I should marry Kookie..." I started, but then I felt so sick again that I closed my eyes.
"Are you alright... oh goddess..." Hongjoong tried to ease my nausea and scanned me for illnesses but then he suddenly jumped up excitedly.
"You're pregnant." he said in disbelief and I looked up, startled. Pregnant... Sophie? But... then...
"Y/N... I never told you to marry Jungkook... It was her... she's a shape-shifter..." Yuchan's words almost didn't reach my mind, but then everything fell into place... Violet... She claimed that Yuchan was on a research trip, she was supposedly the only one who had heard of him and when we just ran here... she was standing with Hoseok... Hoseok... the father of my baby... whom I should have married... I had failed and married the wrong man...
