A loud knock on the door broke the silence, signaling another visitor. Jungkook, engrossed in his book, responded with a distracted "come in" without looking up. He assumed it was his nurse, come to check on him. Lost in the world of words, he was oblivious to his surroundings.
" Busy , aren't we son ? "
A deep voice spoke , piercing through Jungkook's concentration. His face contorted into a scowl as he took in the unwelcome sight of his father, the one person he despised above all others.
" You returned back from your so called bussiness trip ? " Jungkook asked his voice icy and firm. He had knew already why was his father here.
The man sneered, his eyes fixed on his son. "Yes, son, after the great work you did."
" So what brought you here today ? Atleast you are not here to take care of me." He replied , the words dripped with disdain as if it was the bitter truth.
Jungkook's calm demeanor seemed to amuse him.His father chuckled, a low, mirthless sound. "You know me better than I know myself, Jungkook, don't you?"
" Cut the shit father and reply my damn question ". Jungkook spoke heatdly , his patience wearing thin.
The man's smile faltered, his expression darkening at Jungkook's outburst. For a moment, the air was thick with tension, the only sound the heavy breathing of the two individuals. Then, his father's mask slipped back into place, and he spoke in a tone that was deceptively calm.
" Very well Jungkook , let's get straight to the point . It's about the recent deal we lost . And my dear son because of your carelessness clients are very upset with us. " His eyes narrowed, his gaze piercing." They're questioning our company's credibility, and I'm afraid our reputation is at stake."
His father's words were laced with accusation, and Jungkook could feel his anger simmering just below the surface. He knew exactly where this was going, and he wasn't going to let his father get away with it.
" Well father you did a great work coming here yourself , I was going to visit you " Jungkook spoke his voice calm and calculated . " And about the deal it's not my business if you get it or not . " His sharp gaze locked with his father .
Jungwon clenched his jaws and his blood boiled at his son's reply , his eyes flashing with a mixture of frustration and humiliation. He took a deep breath, trying to compose himself, but his voice still came out tight and controlled.
"Don't play dumb, Jungkook," he spat out, his words laced with venom. " I gave you one responsibility to find this traitor who is destroying our empire , but you can't even do that and you are telling me that it's not your bussiness - " .
" Bull shit Father " Jungkook spoke beating down Jungwon's words . His face twisted in disgust. "You're one to talk, Father. You're the one who's been making deals behind my back, despite my objections." .
