Dabi had never felt this warm and comfortable before and had been okay with it. Being too hot made him antsy and the fire in his chest churned. He would get furious, sometimes even go on a rampage, when he was too warm or hot. However, this warmth was calming his mind, relaxing his aching muscles. He felt like he was floating in a cloud of warmth and Kazemi wasn't even touching him.

His girl had left this morning to go back to work. Dabi had tried to make her stay, worried about her bullet wound. However, Kazemi told him she had been off work for a week, which made Dabi shut up. He was the reason she had to take time off.

How selfish can I be? Dabi thought as he got out of bed and walked into his bathroom. It was strange to see Kazemi's toothbrush next to his on the counter, her body wash and shampoo in his shower, and the box of tampons creeping him out. Dabi had never let a girlfriend stay over indefinitely; they were lucky to even stay over for one night.

But Kazemi could stay as long as she wanted.

Dabi never wanted her to leave.

Dabi wanted to know what made her tick and what kept her going. What better way to figure that out than with her here? He wanted to figure out Kazemi and the things he knew she was hiding. Like, how there had to be something else going on with her quirk. No one had ever faced Shigaraki and lived to tell the tale. Either she wasn't telling him or she didn't know that her quirk was awakening.

Then there was the steady-paced healing of her bullet wound. Dabi has seen, had, and given a fair share of bullet wounds. It takes weeks to heal and Kazemi was already creating scar tissue.

It was strange.

She can't feel pain unless it is severe or killing her.

She takes away pain just by touching skin instantaneously.

She heals fast.

What if—

Holly Shit!

"She's already creating scar tissue?" Atsuhiro asked after Dabi explained Kazemi's wound to him.

Dabi, his baby brother Shoto, and his best friends Atsuhiro and Toga, all sat in a booth at Switchblade Diner & Bar. Dabi had taken Kazemi here, but they had run into her arrogant ex-boyfriend and couldn't enjoy their meal. That night would be something he would never forget; it was their first date, after all, even if Dabi wanted to strangle Rekka to death for even looking at his girl. But the makeup sex they had afterward was worth not killing the bastard yet. By the pissed-off look on Kazemi's face when she'd first spotted Rekka, Dabi could tell who broke things off.

Dabi wanted to make Rekka feel how Kazemi did when he broke her heart. Maybe even worse.

Dabi wanted to make Shigaraki pay for what he did.

"If Shigaraki gets a word of this he will try to send someone else after her." Dabi said lowly but still nodded at Hiro, "I need to start training her."

"Start training who?"

Everyone at the table besides Dabi reached for their weapons.

Dabi knew that seductive alto anywhere and stood calmly to face his girlfriend. A crooked smile spread across her face when her big brown eyes looked at him and his stomach did that weird thing again. If Dabi wasn't in front of his family, friends, and co-workers he wouldn't have strengthened the buckle in his knees and he would have just surrendered everything in that moment to his girl.

She's wearing my shirt, Dabi thought as Kazemi stepped onto her tiptoes to kiss his scarred cheek. I can't believe she's mine.

He needed to protect her but she also needed to learn to protect herself again

He needed to protect her but she also needed to learn to protect herself again. If what she had told them the other day was true, then she should unlock her muscle memories and beat someone's ass. Dabi also wanted to see her fighting style; she does carry herself like a dancer.

"What are you doing off early?" Toga asked Kazemi with a sharp canine smile, breaking Dabi from his mini trance.

"I'm not off yet, I'm just on break. I have an hour before I have to go back," Kazemi said, "Dabi texted me and said he'd be here."

Dabi grabbed a chair from another table and placed it at the head of their booth for Kazemi to sit. Dabi took back his seat on the outside of the booth and next to Shoto. Toga sat on the other side of Kazemi and across from Dabi. Atsuhiro sat next to Toga.

"What were you guys talking about?" Kazemi asked as she hooked the strap of her shoulder bag on the back of her chair.

"Your quirk," Sho spoke up.

Dabi's palms became sweaty when Kazemi's doe eyes met the heterochromatic eyes and dyed black and white hair of his little brother. Dabi still feels like it's his fault that Shoto made him dye the left side of his hair black with ashes.

"Kazemi, this is Shoto, my little brother." Dabi introduced.

Atsuhiro was observing them quietly. Toga looked at him like he had two heads, but Dabi only rolled his eyes at her. What is this bitch looking at?

The smile that spread across Kazemi's beautiful face worried Dabi.

"It's nice to finally meet you, Shoto." Kazemi chuckled.

The easiness of her crooked smile made everyone put their weapons back in their designated holsters and sheaths.

Even Dabi felt a smirk on his face.
