❛ i'm gonna stay right here until i die ❜

𝑊𝐻𝐸𝑁 𝑃𝐸𝑂𝑃𝐿𝐸 𝑊𝐴𝐾𝐸 𝑈𝑃 from a long duration on unconsciousness, they feel a heavy pressure against their heart the moment their eyes open. Their mind is forced to take in every little thing around them in a flicker; what they can see, what they hear, what they smell, what they can feel. All of this helps them determine where they are.

Dia felt that same heavy pressure on her heart when her eyes opened very suddenly. She couldn't see much since her vision was blurry. They needed to regain focus after being unconscious for hours. She could hear wind moving through leaves, birds chirping, and flowing water. Dia couldn't really tell what she smelled, it was just air and grass, which was all she could feel as well.

Dia's joints were a little sore, so it was a struggle for her to push herself up out of the grass and to her feet. She let out a pained breath as she brushed off her legs and pale green shorts before she froze very suddenly.

"What the hell..." Dia breathed out as she took in her surroundings. She stood in a large field with a corner filled with trees and a small river that ran through the brink. What was most significant and terrifying was the large stone walls covered in vines that reached into the sky. There was an opening in the four walls, doors that led into these strange hallways that Dia did not feel the need to explore. That might have come from the fact that she heard a loud noise behind her.

Dia turned around quickly to be met with this small puppy sitting in the grass. It was a brown and white border collie looking up at her with the kindest eyes and its tail wagging. Dia looked around again, confused as to what this animal was doing, but it seemed friendly.

Dia had been forced into this strange situation, one where she couldn't remember anything, not even her name. The corporation that created this maze threw her into this situation to punish her for being defiant against the company. They figured that if they were going to test this new experiment, they needed a test dummy, and who better than the young girl that had already tried to burn WCKD to the ground?
