He could pretend not to care, but she was always in the back of his mind.

(Author's pov)

The sun hung low in the sky, casting a golden hue over the city as it approached 4 PM. The streets were alive with activity cars honking, people bustling along the sidewalks, and the distant sound of music drifting from nearby cafes. Inside his sleek black Rolls Royce, Aditya sat in the backseat, gazing out at the familiar sights, his mind swirling with thoughts.

"Shiv," Aditya said, breaking the silence. "We need to grab that package."

Shiv, seated in the front passenger seat, shifted uncomfortably. His left arm was wrapped tightly in a cast, a reminder of the last job that had gone wrong. He turned slightly to look back at Aditya, forcing a smile despite his discomfort.

"Yeah, no problem, sir," Shiv replied, though his tone suggested a hint of uncertainty.

As they approached a small, nondescript shop that specialized in rare goods, Aditya's brow furrowed. It was one of those places only a few in the city knew about a treasure trove for those who needed something hard to find. Aditya nodded toward the shop, prompting Shiv to move.

"Just keep it simple," Aditya said, his tone encouraging. "I'll be right here."

Shiv nodded, though his confidence seemed to waver as he opened the door and stepped out of the car. He approached the vendor at the curb, where a small package waited, wrapped in plain brown paper. But as Shiv reached for it, the awkward angle of his fractured arm made the task impossible. He strained, trying to manoeuvre the package into his grasp, but the pain flashed through him like lightning.

Seeing Shiv struggle, Aditya leaned forward in his seat, ready to step out and help. Just then, a figure moved swiftly toward them from the sidewalk a woman, her movements fluid and confident.

"Let me help," she said, her voice firm yet gentle.

Before Shiv could respond, she reached past him and effortlessly grabbed the package, her hands steady and sure. Shiv blinked, momentarily surprised, and his tension melted into gratitude as she turned to him with a warm smile.

"Here you go," she said, handing the package over. Their fingers brushed briefly, and Shiv felt a warmth spread through him, a flicker of something more than mere appreciation.

"Thanks, I-" Shiv began, his cheeks flushing slightly. The woman met his gaze, her eyes sparkling with kindness.

"No problem at all," she replied, giving him an encouraging nod. "Just be careful next time." with that she left.

Aditya saw some girl helping Shiv but didn't mind checking who. He just cared about his package and his men Shiv.

But on the other hand, that stranger girl has left her impression on Shiv's mind.
