She was his greatest temptation and he was her biggest regret, all wrapped in one.

(Author's pov)

Anamika stood outside on the front porch for a moment, her back pressed against the cold wall, her breath shaky. Her fingers traced the spot on her neck where Aditya had left his mark an undeniable claim that still made her shiver. She couldn't stop thinking about the way his hand had gripped her, how his lips had brushed too close to her skin. The bruise was faint but deep, hidden beneath her hair, but she felt it like it was burning her.

She let out a slow breath, trying to gather herself. Her heart still raced, her body still humming with the heat he had stirred inside her. The rational part of her mind screamed to forget it, to go back inside and act like nothing had happened. But every part of her that craved the feeling he brought, wasn't ready to let it go.

Pulling her hair to cover the mark, she stepped back into the venue. The music and lights were still pulsing as if nothing had changed. She scanned the room, her eyes landing on Riya, who had passed out on the couch, a drunken smile on her face.

Anamika moved toward a darker corner of the room, keeping her head down, her hand brushing over her neck every few minutes as if she could erase the heat that still lingered there. But she couldn't. The mark Aditya had left wasn’t just on her skin it was deep inside her now, this burning need that made her want to feel his hands on her again, to be consumed by him.

The logical part of her hated it, hated how easily he got under her skin. But no matter how hard she tried to fight it, she couldn't stop the warmth spreading through her, the way her body responded to just the thought of him. She wanted him to come back, to finish what he started, to ruin her as only he could.

As the hours stretched on, the party continued like nothing had happened. Anamika remained in the corners, taking care of everything. But, She could still feel the imprint of his fingers on her skin.

By the time the clock hit 4 AM, the party was finally coming at end. The music softened, and people started to leave, stumbling out in drunken pairs or alone. Anamika watched them from her corner, but her mind was far from there. She was still with Aditya, still thinking of the mark he’d left, and what it meant for her.

(Morning)

My head was pounding. God, why did I let Riya talk me into drinking so much last night? I groaned, sitting up slowly as the sunlight poured into my room, harsh and unforgiving. Every movement felt like a hammer smashing against my skull. I dragged myself out of bed, blinking away the haze.

As I didn’t have the luxury to deal with it. Today was the Haldi ceremony, and I had work to do. Being the wedding planner meant there was no time for hangovers, no matter how much my body protested. After forcing myself into a quick shower and downing more water than my stomach could handle, I felt somewhat human again.
