Dorian Underwood
Sorcerer
His home--_-_-_-
If there is one thing that Dorian hates more than liars, it's a thief. Especially if they are cocky. So when he met Vax'ildan Vessar, a half elf with a smug smile and sneaky hands, it was only a matter of time before they began to butt heads.
He was minding his own business, which was a very easy thing to do when you live out in the middle of nowhere. He was practicing his magic on a nearby dying tree, trying to restore its life when he heard voices. Multiple voices.
Of course, it's not as if he isn't known. He has friends, but the idea that all of them together without the sound of violence is a bit concerning. Dorian sets his hand on fire as he creeps around the corner of his home to catch a glimpse of the travelers. To his surprise he sees a familiar Goliath and Gnome on his doorstep accompanied by a few others.
He allows his magic to die out as he rounds the corner, scaring the travelers. Grog was the first to greet the black haired male and pulled him into a hug. The goliath hugged the male slightly and the male laughed through the pain of his ribs being crushed. Once Grog has placed the male down Pike smiled before doing a quick introduction.
Vax was in awe of the male. He has seen many males and females alike, all pretty in their own ways, but the male before him seems. . . different.
"Pike Trickfoot and Grog Strongjaw, my dear friends." The male smiles. "It's lovely to see you two again."
"Dorian, its wonderful to see you too. Um, we actually need your help for something." Pike says, scratching the back of her neck. Dorian raises an eyebrow but opens his home up to them.
The inside of his home is a total 180 from the outside. The outside screams 'An-old-lady-lives-here-with-her-fifteen-cats'. The inside is dark and gloomy, the walls lines with shelves full of books. It reminded the group of a haunted library of a castle. Dark blue magic picks up items in their walkway and moves them off to the side.
"Um, sorry about the mess." Dorian says as he quickly uses his magic to clean up the living room. You couldn't even tell there were chairs and a couch under all the books and maps. Vax found it quite cute how Dorian was in a slightly panic state.
"So," Dorian clasped his hands together as Pike, Grog and Keyleth took a seat on the dark leather couch. Vax, Vex and Percy decided to stand. "What do you need my assistance for?"
Pike messed with her fingers. Dorian watches, his smile falling as seconds continue without an answer. Finally, after what seemed like a lifetime has passed, Pike spoke. "You, um, wouldn't want to help us save the world would you?"
Dorian laughed, a manic laughter that caught most of Vox Machina off guard. Dorian fell back, a chair moved and caught him as he threw his head back. His laughter died down and he ran a hand through his hair.
"Oh, Pike, next time humor me before you say something like that."
"But it's true." Keyleth spoke up next. She grips her staff tight, her knuckles turning white. "Tal'Dorei has been burned to the ground, dragons roam and we need to stop them. Enough people have already died. And Pike believes you can help, so will you?"
"No." Dorian answered. The group looks towards him with wide eyes. "I don't help those who steal from me."
"We have never stolen from you Dorian." Pike says as she gestures between her and Grog. Dorian sighs and sends a bright blue ring directly at Vax. It hits and ties around him like rope. Vex tried to reach for her bow but she ended up in the same position as her brother. The other members all stand, some ready to attack and others trying to calm the situation. But it didn't matter. In only a few seconds they were all constrained by bright blue magic ropes.
Dorian stood from his chair and walked to the male half-elf. Dorian reached into Vax's pocket and pulled out a small statue made of pure gold. He also pulled out a few vials of potions that Dorian knew the male has no idea about and finally a ruby embedded dagger. Dorian walked back to the shelves and placed everything in their correct places.
"I brought you into my home and you steal from me while begging for my help. Any help that I was willing to give is now gone since you allowed these. . . thieves into my home." Dorian says as he eyes the male. The half-elf was embarrassed, not the fact that he was caught but how close the male got when he reached into his pocket while making direct eye contact with the half-elf.
"Look, we got off on the wrong foot." Vex says as she looks at the male. "I promise you my brother won't steal from you again if you get your magic off of us."
"Hmm, and why would I believe a half-elf?" Dorian questions. Pike turns to Dorian the best she could.
"Because we need you." Dorian thought for a moment then with a flick of his hand the magic disappeared. Dorian sighed before crossing his arms as he walked away from Vax and back to his chair.
"Tell me about the dragons."

Dorian told Vox Machina that they could stay for a few nights, as long as he doesn't find anything missing. Pike promised nothing else would be missing while eyeing Vax.
Dorian, not expecting guests, quickly used his magic to clean up his home. He is a clean person, but he has a tendency to buy whatever catches his eye when he goes into town. Despite Vax stealing from him he still decided to cook food for his guests. He told them to roam around, to entertain themselves, but mostly to leave him alone.
Cooking has always been something that Dorian is good at. He loves cooking and baking because it's like potion making. And he's very good at it.
Vax felt bad, he knew that Pike took them there to get the male's help, but that dagger looked so pretty, and the potions looked useful and the golden statue looked expensive. Now, Vax is walking around the male's home, his hands behind his back. He was about to round the corner when he spot Dorian. The male seemed deep in thought while he was using his magic to complete multiple tasks.
Vax walked away, embarrassed from their previous interaction. He decided that during their stay he would make it up to Dorian somehow. He just needs to find out how.
His eyes lit up. 'Pike'.
