St. Jordan's High School 📌
5:00 P.MSitting in silence, I watched attentively as the Head of Meeting called the meeting to an end.
Finally!
Siting in this cold room filled with the student body and heads of the school does not get any easier.
Taking a deep breath, I quickly gather and pack my things before making my way outside of the conference room, through the office, and outside unto the corridors.
Feeling the warm breeze touch against my skin, I let out the breath that I've been holding in.
Slipping my phone out of my pocket, I dialled my father's number, letting him know that the meeting was finished and he could now come for me.
I would've told him to leave portmore by four thirty, but Jaylen asked me and Jinelle to stay back after school with her as Kevin's practice didn't until finish five thirty.
Neva yet see a gyal love har man so much yet, all mi hear innah mi ears pon a daily is my man dis, my man dat.
Nuh because yuh stop talk to Aiden mean seh yuh fi hate pon Jaylen.
Shut up!
Speaking of Aiden, we haven't spoken in about two weeks.
Not gonna lie, I'm lowkey proud of myself. When I made the decision to keep my distance, I knew it would be hard, but if I used the word hard, it would've been an understatement.
Thankfully Mr.McCartney explained the whole situation to my dad, expect the part about us liking each other. My dad said that Aiden was the victim in the whole situation and was doing what he thought was best for him and his family.
I agree to some extent. He also explained the situation to my mother. Who told me that she believed there was more to the story. Of course, I told her and explained that I planned to keep my distant from him.
But she reminded me of the story of my grandparents on my father's side. Using it to justify that there's no need for me to keep my distance and that she'd speak to my dad. Which I begged her not to.
After the whole ordeal, we went back home, thankfully.
"Earth to Savannah." Jaylen waved her hands in front of my face with furrowed eyebrows.
"Yeah?" I replied.
"yuh know how long yuh zone out girl, yuh call uncle yet?" she asked.
"Yeah, him seh load and guh 20 side but as soon as him done him a fawud," I informed them as Jinelle walked up to us.
"Ackeem a call, yuh" she informed me before pointing towards him.
Glancing at him, I sent him a text to meet me outside before me, Jaylen and Jinelle made our way towards the field.
But stopping in the parking lot as I heard Ackeem called out to me.
"Mi soon come." I said as I gave my bag to Jaylen, turning around to make my way back to Ackeem.
"How yah gwan suh?, Head girl and Head boy nuh fi debrief to ourselves after the meeting?" he asked, closing the gap between us.
Did I mention that Ackeem still hasn't given up on his crush on me, and with Aiden not coming to school, his constant flirting has gotten worse.
Especially backed by the fact that we're both Head girl and Head boy.
"Debrief bout, what exactly?" I folded my arms across my chest and furrowed my eyebrows.
