LILITH'S POV:
I sat on the edge of my bed, the early morning sun spilling through my window, illuminating the mess of textbooks laying scattered around me, the remnants of last-minute cramming mixed with clothes that hadn't made it to the hamper. I glanced at my phone, the screen flickering with notifications I wasn't ready to face."Always be yourself; thats enough," my dad's voice echoed in my mind, a comforting mantra. It had been his way of grounding me, of reminding me that I didn't have to chase after anyone else's expectations. But lately, those words felt heavier, like a weight pressing down on my chest.
"What does that even mean?" Whispering to myself, running a hand through my frizzy hair. The pressure to figure everything out had me spiraling. My friends already making plans for life after graduation, and here i am stuck in place, lost in the sea of expectation's.
I picked up my phone, scrolling through social media, each post a reminder of everyone else moving forward. "Why can't i just know what i want?" sighing, leaning back against my pillow. The weight of uncertainty press on my heart. My eyes wondering to my bookshelf, where a worn novel sat, it's pages creased and dog-eared. It was filled with tales of adventure and self-discovery—stories I loved but couldn't seem to live. "I wish i could just figure it out like they do," murmuring, the words barely escaping my lips.
Glancing around my room, the familiar chaos reminding me of my life. "I should be excited, right? This is the beginning of something new." Yet, my my heart raced with doubt. "Maybe I'm just not cut out for this?" murmuring, my fingers tracing the edge of an open notebook filled with half-formed ideas and sketches.
Drifting out of my daydreaming, looking out the corner of my eye, I caught the time of my alarm clock. "Oh no!" I gasped, realizing the hour was slipped away. Panic surged through me. "Im going to be late for class!" With a burst of energy, I leaped up, scrambling to gather my things. "Okay, focus, Lilith," i thought, determination replacing doubt. "Just take it one step at a time."
Dashing toward the door, fast as lightning pushing my worries aside for now. "Let's see what today brings," i thought, sighing deeply ready to embrace whatever came in.✿
I was running late. The wind whipped through the tress, rustling the leaves in a chaotic dance that mirrored my frantic pace. I dashed past the historical buildings, my heat racing with the realization that my first class of the semester was about to start.Pulling my phone out of my bag, i unlocked it, scrolling through old emails. My stomach dropped as i saw a slew of unfamiliar names—professors, new faces. "Great, just what i need," i muttered to myself, trying to quell the rising anxiety. I finally located my schedule and groaned: Mathematics. Of all subjects, why did it have to be math?
I hurried toward the lecture hall, the buzz of conversation growing louder as i approached. Students filled the seats, some huddled in groups while others buried their faces in their laptops. I glanced down at my phone, squinting to find the right room number. With a deep breath, i stepped inside, greeted by the faint hum of voices and the sight if a mix of students—hoods pulled up,laptops half opened—typical.
I slid into a seat right in the middle, feeling a bit—conscious as my chair creaked beneath me. Tapping my fingers on the desk, i tried to focus but soon drifted off, imagining the cozy library i had spotted earlier, nestled beside a charming café that exuded the scent of fresh pastries. I could almost picture myself there, curled up in a worn armchair with a good book, surrounded by the comforting smell of aged paper paper and the faint sound of coffee brewing.
Minutes passed by, and the room fell silent. I blinked, startled back into reality. My eyes settled on a women standing confidently at the front of the room. She was a tall women, her posture exuding authority and grace.
