Listen to my story, a story of legends and of the fallen; about the betrayed and the betrayer. This story is about a man who's fallen so far from glory, a man whose obsession will keep him clinging to what little humanity remains within his soul as he struggles with the inner demons that possess him as well as the demons that surround him.
I did not intend to become this man. But I've come to realize that it was never about my intentions, nor what I willed to happen. I never thought I could become something so evil. Long ago I was a man, a man who believed in good and walked only in the light; however once that light vanished I found myself trapped within darkness, lost without hope I was no longer the man walking in the light, but a monster crawling in the dark. Back then light was everywhere and I still had her...
Aria, I miss you so much. I still remember the day we met all those years ago; on that day the sun shone bright, and we were children, still naïve and innocent in a world growing darker each day yet we had managed to find each other in that vast world we once lived in.
But that was long ago.
It wasn't long before we fell in love, then years later we decided to marry. The world had grown so cold and dark; yet there you stood: my radiant light shining down on me brighter than any star ever could.
Finally the day we had waited for had arrived. On this day you and I were to be married, Aria; do you remember that day? So long ago, and so much has happened; we were fools to think the world would let our love last, yet it was what we believed. We thought no one could take that belief away from us.
On that day our love existed challenged by no one. Our wedding took place in a luxurious ballroom filled with all our friends and family, and in the joining of our love we stand before the eyes of God. There I was, standing before the most gorgeous woman who smiled and blushed under my gaze. You were so amazing, Aria, your skin dark in contrast to your heavenly dress that danced in the light and hugged your body wonderfully.
You were truly beautiful.
I still had my long, dark hair; still uncombed and messy. And my eyes were still so blue; I can hardly believe I once looked so innocent. And incredibly enough you had conned me into wearing that ridiculous suit; yet I did it for you. There I stood before the love of my life; and you still are, aria, the last of my love, and of my humanity.
But on that day our love was never really meant to last, Aria.
Shadows loomed over the crowd; a flash of his silver hair, and that evil grin.
A snake had found its way into our Garden.
My smile faltered as the ever looming darkness crept into my heart, a clear sign; paradise was only ever meant to be lost. We were fools, Aria, thinking any two people could ever be so happy in this world.
Lights shattered and fragments of glass showered us all mercilessly. Our screams echoed off the walls in a deafening chord of malice; while blood danced throughout the ballroom floor. The glorious walls of the ballroom fell and waves of darkness tore through everything, slaughtering our loved ones and destroying all that was God.
Nothing but darkness.
But I stood once more, my eyes had emptied into a starless night, my hair shone like raven wings; my body transformed by darkness. I was changed forever that day, never to be human ever again.
Everyone lay before me. Dead.
But I had eyes only for you. I moved slowly, carefully picking you up. The dead remained still as my eyes continued to be fixated on you in my arms.
Until darkness overwhelmed me.
And then I screamed.
And someone laughed.
On that day, the coming of darkness, only tragedy existed.
