I sense him behind me. His wings beat the sky as he soars towards me, anger flowing through him. Akio has chosen to hunt me rather than accept my leaving his kingdom. I choose to ignore him as I fly my own path closer to the ground, yet I come to regret this decision as I am tackled from above and we plummet toward the earth. I turn on him and attempt to free myself from the free fall but can't escape his grasp as we crash into the ground.
I am surprised when we break through the surface and I fall onto cement. My head feels wet with blood, yet there is no red substance pouring from my head; instead I find I am lying in a puddle of water. I glance around and find we are in a buried church from the lost world of humans. I lie before the altar of a god I refuse to accept. I can almost feel a heavy aura bearing down on me.
Then I remember I am not alone and turn to see Akio standing before me, his blade Discord already drawn. Contempt is chiseled into his eyes as he glares at me as I stand up to face him. Unspoken words swarm through the air as we remain silent. We both know he's been tracking me this last year. Trying to bring me back to his castle to continue carrying out his dark missions. I've eluded him until now.
He sighs, an unnecessary motion for demons, but he does like his dramatics. He twirls Discord as if considering his next move, turning his head away from me, breaking our eye contact. I summon Orpheus to answer his unspoken question: Yes I intend to fight him, no, there is no going back.
"This is it then?" His whisper echoes silently off the walls of this old church, "I will regret killing you, Kira." He looks at me as I meet his gaze. The water before me moves in ripples as his aura grows.
It's too late when I notice it's not his aura, it's his blade; Discord is a blade of illusion. I curse myself as I step forward to attack but find myself spewing blood as I've been cut in a dozen sword wounds. I fall forward onto my knees as blood clouds the pool of water,
