"Must you obsess over her like this?"
They need me. I can feel them crying out for help.
"You promised her to me, Akio. You promised me that you would revive her."
But I don't want to be needed.
"I'm aware of that! I know what I promised you, Kira. But I need you focused on the task at hand. You will have her soon."
I no longer wish to live, nor do I even want to exist.
"It has been centuries, Akio! When? How much longer must I wait while remaining under your command?"
I only want her.
"If loyalty to me is such hell, then go find her! Go search the goddamn world for her, Kira!" Akio's composure breaks.
"What do you mean? How can she be lost in this world when we have her body sealed within the crystal?!" I motion towards her; before us a solid wall of crystal held the body of Aria, her beautiful wedding dress now black and stained with blood. Otherwise she remains untouched by darkness; perfect as she was the night she died. I stare, consumed by loss.
"We have the body, yes, but the soul has moved elsewhere. It now resides in another body; she has been reincarnated, Kira. I haven't the power to bring her back yet and now Death has taken her soul and revived her. I thought we could bring her back before that happened, but I need more time..."
"How long has she been reincarnated, Akio, when did you plan to tell me? Or were you not too keen on giving up your lap dog!?" Without a single glance back at him, I walk towards the entrance of the castle.
Akio stops me by my arm, "Go to her, and you'll be rejecting my offer, Kira, if you go to her you will be betraying me. Is that what you want?" He glares at me, anger flowing off him in waves of darkness. Finally he sighs and let's go of my arm. "It's not even really her, Kira. It's her soul; different body and different person. She is not the woman you love."
"She is a part of Aria; her soul resides in that woman. She is better than what you offer, Akio; I would rather find this small part of her, rather than continue to fight, and dirty my hands for the sake of your power trip."
"You rather settle for a part, rather than a whole? We can bring her back, Kira; we can bring back everyone! Once we achieve my goal-"
"What you offer is impossible, Akio. I wish I would have realized this sooner."
"We could be gods, Kira!"
"She is what I want!" I snarl, "Not you, not your castle, not even your damn plan; All of this has been for her, not for the sake of becoming a god!" I throw open the castle doors, "go to hell, Akio."
"As you wish, Kira. This was your choice, not mine."
I ignore him as I take flight into the dark world. I will find her, nothing else matters.
