Maxon's P.O.V.
As I kneel and place the ring in Kriss's finger i feel like my heart is breaking I can't explain the pain. I should be giving the ring to America instead, I turn around to see America's reaction and I see her running out of the room and some selected following her I feel guilty for not telling her in advance.
What are you thinking Maxon she lied to you I thought you did the right thing. I stand back up and kiss Kriss,put one hand around her waist and put a fake smile, everything is going to be fine I tried to convince myself. Music is being played in the background and people keep coming congratulating both of us, but honestly the only thing in my mind was America that I wasn't paying attention to the people talking. After I got agitated from being surrounded by people i went to get a drink. I saw my father and my mother walking towards me.
"Thank the Lord you choose Kriss you did the right thing son I am proud, if you choose America all the hard work we have put to this country would have gone to the drain and the system of country would have been destroyed ," said my father satisfied with my decision.
I haven't seen him this happy since the selection started. He care about the country better than my happiness.
My mother congratulated me her face looked like she was confused and worried she mouthed 'What happen to America' but ignored her and I walked away, I went to speak to the guests and this time I tried to pay attention.
Suddenly i see her dancing with some guards and I couldn't hide the fact that I was jealous I felt my blood boiling inside. Yes I know she lied to me but nothing will made me lose all the love I feel for her. After the song ended I felt a tap on the shoulder and see it was America God she so beautiful I thought she had a huge smile and said,
"Congratulations. Prince Maxon i wish you all the happiness to you and kriss." I feel my heart broken in to a million of pieces hearing that and with that she turned around and left the room leaving me speechless, without leaving me chance to say anything to her.
