"I'll wait." She says making him drop his head before running his hands over his face.
"What the fuck have I gotten you into," he mumbled to himself, realizing what he's asked of her.
Now he saw where Matthew was coming from, leaving her side to protect her, but the only thing was she was too stubborn for him to leave in peace.
Duke glances back at her, shaking his head before leaning back in his seat. "You know your pops not gon like this."
"Let me worry about him." Brooklyn sighed as she looked down at her hands that fumbled with each other.
In reality, she didn't even know how she was going to go against her father. She just hoped and prayed that the news of what happened to Gio would stay under his radar or he would make life so much harder for the both of them.
Looking back up, Brooklyn ended up connecting eyes with him, causing both of them to make the same expression. A soft shy smile but their eyes held sadness.
"I've really missed you b." Hearing his words, Brooklyn tucked her lips in as she felt her throat heat up.
"I've missed you too Gio." His heart melted at the softness of her voice. "Don't ever treat me like that ever again."
He smiles a small smile. His lips twitch like he's trying not to laugh. His eyes soften as they study her own."I promise."
"I'm so serious. Next time Imma just put my hands on you Giovanni." Her gaze held all serious, but in the end, all he could do was smile.
"Alright ma." He tilted his head as his finger tapped against his arm which was even bulging through the baggy clothing of the inmate's uniform.
"Nobody playing with you." She asserts her words clearly to him, making sure he felt them. "Do what you have to do and come home, its only so long I will wait for you to get it together."
Duke smacked his lips as his eyes rolled. "You starting to sound like Mani."
"Good, at least somebody was on you while I was gone."
He waved her off as he leaned back in the chair, causing the two fronts to lift off the ground before falling back down and planting it safely on the pavement.
